I added one to my collection today.

A 36320 DB Br 81, from a starter set.
It is already modified with 28 volt bulbs (too bright light in the old steamer), the speed (CV5) is set to step 18 of 63. It runs very smooth in 50 km/h.

A photo will come later.

These last 2 loks bought during my holiday bring the total to 52.
20 Steam, 10 diesel, and 22 electric.

3604 Br 80 - a nice little runner, though a bit too fast. Fitted with a 6080 decoder.
UserPostedImage

34561 E 60 - Nice electric, though running a bit jerkily when cold. I might strip it and give it a good clean. The delta decoder will be replaced eventually.

Looks very good, Ray.

I have fitted 5-star motors in my Br 80s, two with the 6090 decoder, one with a 60760 decoder.
I actually prefer the 60760, as it is easy to adjust the speed down to a prototypical correct speed.

I have noticed that about most of the Marklin steam loc models. The modelling of the spokes is done very finely, and makes for a very realistic model. It is because of this I believe, that you don't notice the out-of-scale wheel treads and flanges.

Not just the steam - one of the things I like most about my Re 4/4 IV is the spoked wheels. Unusual on a modern (ish) electric loco.

Does anyone know if it's feasible to convert a Liliput MAK diesel to Marklin digital? I know Marklin offer a model of the type but I've found a source of cheap Liliput examples, so if it's simple enough I may well have a go. The main problem will be whether there's enough space under the bogie frame for a slider.

Thanks all. Had a good time with this added Bonus. Purchased new in 1994 with the idea of converting to 2 rail. Never did so. sat on Shelf. Now will not fit into his scheme so I won it after dinner on Sunday for a very good price.
Has not been of tracks and once out of Box. Will have a good look at the innards over the weekend.

So Nev, where in Mt Tambourine did you find that beauty...
I didn't think MRR (especially Märklin) was a big thing in Tambourine...

Was it a certain Polish Place?

I had parental approval to be naughty on the F7. [}:)]biggrin the 64 was ordered months ago.

I will be at the PO at 8.30 on Monday. That is when the Post Box sorting is completed. biggrin

After an action packed past 2 days I finally got my BR64.
What a disappointment. [V][V][V] Not really worth the Money [:(]

Nicely detailed but smaller that I thought. Not a great concern

Sound is MOST terrible. I can hardly hear it. Marklin should learn from ESU. Whistle is pathetic and other sounds are hardly worth Mentioning. [xx(][xx(][xx(][xx(][xx(]
Thinking about selling it.

Gave it a run for 10 minutes and now packed away.
Is there a recall or Upgrades on the sound issues ?????

Sorry to hear that, Nev.
My BR64 makes plenty of noise!

I've been extremely pleased with it, especially the low speed running.
Cheers,
Damon
