Hello all

I have one, the "silent" type with Faulhaber motor, no. 8820.
It works well, but is rather noisy. The dust bags in the car half with the ventilation grills on top. This part is detachable for cleaning.

I use it when I disassamble my preliminary C-track living room table layout.

Hello All,

G'day Nev. Have you looked on Dr. Sean Fanelli's homepage??

In the margin there is a line, Marklin Locs 2,click on this and then
fourth or fifth item down on the page that opens is a section,
illustrated and explained, on his cleaning system. There is a link
to Sean's site somewhere in our forum.

Cheers matey.

Jeremy.

ps.VERY OFF topic, looks like the Brits woke up in 2nd. Ashes test.jp

Yes, that one looks better because it's not just a vacuum cleaner, but it can polish the track too.
I have one track cleaning car ( for my N scale layout ) and it is quite noisy . It sounds like a bumblebee.

Lucky you... I have to wait until January to determine if it is one of our "priorities"... [xx(] FD is very miffed that the Sweden trip is off for this year and it does not help that may be Xmas 2009 before we have another opportunity to travel overseas.. [:(]

Hi Nev,

I am thinking of getting the LUX cleaner/vacuum set.
It seems that one can order it with different decoders.
Which one did you order?
Could you enlighten me, please.

Thanks Nev.

I am going to town today to have a closer look. I must have that set as my floor layout gets rather dusty. Trying to use an ordinary hoover is a pain, you need at least 3 arms to avoid tilted cars etc.[xx(]

Also thanks to MZ_1414 for pointing out that the set is available at Togcenter/Copenhagen.

Today I am also picking up my Roco 68713 (MZ 1414) at a bargain price of €199. Looking forward see that running on my layout.

In short: it is going to be a beautiful day [:p]

Hi Nev and other members with the yellow dual wagon cleaning set from LUX. Pls. feel free to comment. Thanks.

Got my LUX 9620 cleaning set and only instructions in German, which is not so good for me.
I have a few questions I hope you can help me with.

Both motors are basically functioning - starting-stopping with "lights on" and speed change functions

The rail cleaner is attached to the pulling loc and the hoover at the end.
Is this the correct set up confused
The hoover wagon did often de-rail, so I added a weight block in the compartment.
The drum rotates in the same direction as the drive wheels.
Should it turn opposite ? (perhaps more effectively then). The adjustable height of the drum is such that it does not block at turnouts (on the higher pukos) but then it hardly touches the tracks - then not very efficient I think.
How do you set it confused
Are you supposed to be able to program the decoder confused
I can't access other than name and address (factory set at 78).
Are you supposed to drive it only in the pull mode confused
It sounds a bit weard when being pushed onto a blind track (depending of the height adjustment of the drum I think).

Looking forward to comments. Thank you.

Regards,
Benny - Outsider and MFDWPL

Both motors are basically functioning - starting-stopping with "lights on" and speed change functions
Vaccuum is started by the Reversing /Go Buttom. Throttle Controls Speed. Wheel cleaner started by the Light Function Switch
The rail cleaner is attached to the pulling loc and the hoover at the end.
Is this the correct set up confused

yes

The hoover wagon did often de-rail, so I added a weight block in the compartment.
I have not had a De-railment
The drum rotates in the same direction as the drive wheels.
Should it turn opposite ? (perhaps more effectively then).
I do not think direction of rottion matters. If you think it would be better in hte opposite direction run hte train in reverse
The adjustable height of the drum is such that it does not block at turnouts (on the higher pukos) but then it hardly touches the tracks - then not very efficient I think.
How do you set it confused
Height adjustment of the drum is for overhead wire cleaning. I have it ao it has full movement. (No Adjustment. It is on hte tracks and I have no problems.
Are you supposed to be able to program the decoder confused dont think so
I can't access other than name and address (factory set at 78).
Are you supposed to drive it only in the pull mode confusedDont think it matters.
