My set is M track and is all analoge and will likely remain so. My questions deal with smoke units as I have to replace some and maybe add some.
Will smoke unit 7226 work with Delta lok 33911?
Will smoke unit 72270 work with lok 39390?
For loks 3048 and 3047 is 7226 the correct replacement number?

Thanks in advance, Fred

Thanks for the information I know the other ones are the correct number but I am not sure if they would work on a analoge layout,

Yes, they do work on analog.

The 7226 is a Seuthe 10, and is designed for a voltage between 10 - 16v.

The Seuthe 11 is designed for voltages between 16 - 22v, and is more suited if being feed directly from the track power on a digital layout. AFAIR, the only time that Marklin hasn't recommended a 7226 smoke unit for their locos that take them was for one of the Big Boys - 37992 I think it was, and for that you need 2 Seuthe 11's.

Likewise, 72270 is the same as a Seuthe 20, and is designed for a voltage between 10 - 16v. The Seuthe 24 is designed for voltages between 16 - 22v, but otherwise is the same size as 72270 / Seuthe 20.

From memory 39390 is the Br39 (I have one myself) and the correct smoke unit is 72270 - this will be detailed in the loco's manual.

I haven't fitted the 72270 I have to my 39390 as yet, but I believe you have to be careful in fitting it, as there have been some issues with wires, etc (or something to that effect) touching the smoke unit and burning through as a result.

There are some previous threads in the forum about that, try to search on '39390 smoke unit' to find them.

That search only brought up this thread! So much for my searching skills!

Here's the main thread re the 39390, and in page 6 and onwards there are mentions of the smoke unit issue.
