Does it seem that Marklin is using the skinner model 72270 (Seuthe 20) smoke unit much more often than in the past. It seems to me that most all older engines used the 7226 (Seuthe 10) and rarely the 72270. Lately it seems that much more of the newer engine are using the skinner one. Unsure I'm thinking that maybe Marklin is more concerned with getting the scale dimensions correct which leads to a smaller diameter smokestack requiring the skinner unit.

Is this correct or am I mistaken? Mellow

Chuck

There are large boilers and smokestacks with large diameter that allow 7226 - and there are smaller boilers and smokestacks with a smaller diameter where 7226 does not fit for a scale reproduction.

I think with many locomotives the 72270 was the only choice.
