Hello all,
I just bought an ultrasonic cleaner but the instructions are a little light on the actual instructions. Wondering what the best cleaner/s are best to use on loco parts and if anyone has any temp and/or time recommendations. Thanks, Jeff

Many items recommend only distilled water. A mild surfactant can be added, such as Dawn dish detergent but sparingly. Did you get the Vevo brand? It's one of the budget ones. I was considering it for my vynil records. After researching the results I read that you may still hear the occasional pop of crackle after cleaning. I get good results from using my Dishwasher cleaning pad. I mix distilled water and 1% of rubbing alcohol and a little automatic dishwasher rinse agent. I think the key for cleaning electronic parts, gears, wheels, etc is to get them completely dry before reassembly.

I’m currently upgrading a bunch of analog loco’s to digital, cleaning all the parts by hand is rather time consuming so I figured for $85US I’d give this a try. If nothing else at least my wife will be able to clean her jewelry without having to take it to a store. Thanks for the reply. Jeff
