Are, or were 3071 and 4071 interior lightning kits ever available? |

Hi Gary, The first version of the train (3070) came with interior lightning. So the interior lightning can be easily added with spare-parts. In the Märklin - magazine 1/1979 instructions were published including the spare-part numbers needed. mm-1979-1.pdf (1,255kb) downloaded 138 time(s).Regards Markus

I got these sets on Ebay recently so I dont know who did what to the train. Looking at my old 1978 catalog the Norhlander train came with interior lighting but the TEE RAM didn't. Gary |

I'm finding that installing interior passenger wagon lighting is tricky business. |

Hi Gary/All, Please see my article re adding LED lights to the 37500 Northlander. 37500 NorthlanderOf interest is the masking at the front of the train. Hope it provides ideas to aid in your LED light conversions. Edited by user 01 January 2025 23:54:03(UTC)

John Only the TEE train in that photo is using incandescent bulbs. All the other trains in that photo have LED lighting boards with either white, soft white, or yellow LEDs. My trains are old and don't have electrical contact couplers so running power conductors through the train to reduce the number of wagons with pickup shoes was the tricky part. |

This is what LED interior lighting looks like in the TEE RAM. Now I need to make interior seating fixtures. |

This somewhat shows the difference between LED and incandescent interior lighting inside the TEE RAm. The top photo shows the TEE RAm with LED lighting boards and the bottom photo shows the vintage incandescent interior lighting system. The LED intensity is adjustable. I have the intensity turned up to about 90% of the adjustable range. The incandescent bulbs appear brighter in the photo than they actually are. |
