Thanks John and Steven. Our club members also had the 1 Gauge layout at the exhibition, but I was busy looking after the HO layout, so I didn't get much of a chance to take more photos of it.

Looking through M's great history several changes come to mind ... In the year 1995 there have been three LFCM/DCM Gators: #3335, #3322, #3722 [:p][:p][:p] Turn of the century saw three BIG-SINUS Gators: #39221, #39222, #39223 And today: NO SINGLE ONE LEFT. All of them cancelled by some guys with no idea about MRR. They deleted most of the U.S. stuff, and they deleted all the excellent Gators [xx(][xx(][xx(] In short words, they cancelled most of the high quality classics collectors would buy Seems economical harakiri makes 'em sharp. No wonder the company is in such state ... |

I'm sure the E94/194 will be back; there is too big a following for the lok. It's probably being redesigned for the SDS with 4 axle drive (like the E50 that just came out). It will return better than ever!

I'm not sure if perhaps you have written about this topic before, but could you tell me which are the main differences between 3015/3056/3356, and which of these have plastic or metal shells?
Many thanks. |

Many thanks Svein!
So even if you are looking for a metal shell krok you should be careful as some 3356 are plastic and other are metal...
In any case it's a very nice locomotive.

That's interesting. My 3356 with road number 13 302 (see the picture at the top of page 6 of this thread) very much has a metal body!

That's interesting. But are you sure it's a 3356? As far as I know, all types of 3356 had black wheels and unpainted handrails, like this: Your picture with yellow handrails and grey wheels seem to be from a more recent model. Could it be? Regards. |

Thanks Guys, the loco was sold to me as a 3356, but come to think of it the guy who sold it to me also had some of the anniversary sets for sale.
Anyway, since I posted the picture of the loco in this thread I have upgraded the loco with a 60760 kit, and may even put a loksound in it later on (with swiss lights!??)

I also have the 3300, made in 1985. I have converted it with the mfx set 60921 and rebuilt the front lights to the Swiss light change. It required these parts: 259150 lamp holder (2x) 207990 light guide (2x) 1N4148 diode (2x) It is identical to 3356 verison 1 regarding length and lights, but has a metal body and different colour scheme. See my croc list at http://www.saebonet.com/svein/T...tes/loco_types/Crocs.htm |

Awesome collection John! Reptilian beauty at it's best! Am proud owner of one Hammo 8356. Would love a 39560, maybe someday. Is it's gearing more prototypical? I have one other gator, a Roco E-91 geared slow, the motor screams when powered more than half way up. It has great tourqe for pulling many cars though.

Go for it, Alberto
I converted my 3300 locomotives with Märklin 60921 and 60924 mfx conversion sets and made the Swiss light change on the Be 6/8.
Both locomotives run very smooth. |

I have mentioned it before, but..
My fever started in 1974, when I, as a young Inter-railer, stood at the platform in Winterthur, Switzerland. A Crocodile, without any cars, passed me just a couple of meters away. The platform was vibrating as the big locomotive passed.
I will never forget it. |

I was living in Switzerland (Lausanne)in 1960 when I was 10. There was a guy who had a huge layout in his garage in an apartment building nearby. He must have had 10 or more Crocs on the layout. I never forgot. Eric
