I suspect that my Zephyr was designed for the Delta system because the horn, bell, diesel rumble and drum head light all work on the mobile station while the head lights and interior lights only work on analog. I wonder if anyone else has encountered this issue and would appreciate any advice.

Delta locos normally have 0 functions that can be controlled digitally.
The Mobile Station has 9 buttons to control 9 funtions - the light button is below the display. It should control the front light of the locomotive.

The train set 26600 has a second decoder in one of the coaches. This decoder controls 4 light functions.
Have you added the train using number 26600 from the database? If you do you might find 2 entries for your train in the loco list.
Regards
Tom

Thank you very much for your response. I do have the Zephyr loaded as 26600 and have the right side of the second locomotive (facing the front of the locomotive) set uddddudud (u = up, d = down) with the single switch on the upper left corner of the right side set on. The four switches on the left hand side of the second locomotive are set ddud, which I think is what manual (60 3993 1099 lo) suggests. The switches on the observation car are udddudud with the drum head light to the right. The top rear light goes on and stays on with the horn, and the marker lights on either side of the back of the observation car only work while the bell is working. Charlie

If you set them both to the same address (loco address has 9 letters so I presume it's also udddudud), both loco and observation car will respond: light and sound will be switched at the same time.

I don't have the set, I don't have the manual.

According to Stummi, the default address for the loco is 7 (which would be duddudud).

If you want to switch functions independently, you must set different addresses for loco and car.

Hello Nagato,

welcome to the forum!

As far as I remember, there is the Adress 7 for the WP Engine and the adress 6 for the decoder in the last car.

By calling 26600 in the Mobile Station you will only get control over the loco at Adress 7.

So, to control the lights and so on, you should choose Adress 6 and it should work then.

I am handling the CZ with the IB by choosing the loco (Adress 7) on the one control and the cars (Adress 6) on the second control. That does it.

Have fun with your CZ!
René

Here is a tip:

I think it was very disturbing using 2 different adresses for the train. I use a CS and experimented. As some of you know, the old Big Boy 37990 has 2 (40,41 by default) adresses but the CS register it as 1 loco entry. As I already have 37990 Big Boy I added one more Big Boy in my loco list. Then I changed the adress for that entry that matched CZ. The adress should match the one in the loco and the adress in the end car should be changed to the next one. Otherwise you can´t drive the loco.
These are my adresses:

CS-entry: 05, Locomotive: 05, End car 06.

Then you have to change all the symbols so that it matches the functions.
F0: Front light
F1: Sound
F2: Bell
F3: Horn
F4: Deactivate acceleration/deceleration delay
F5: End car interior Lighting
F6: End car cabin lights and red marker lights
F7: End car rear red light
F8: End car red sign
