Does anyone have an idea on the price tag difference between these two models? On average, 80 to 90 euros.

Is it just the painting for such a difference, or is there anything more important?

Both have sound and C-sine. So.....?????

Not exactly sure, but looking at the product descriptions on the m* website, 39104:

has a whistle sound

has running gear lights

is a one-time MHI series

they look quite different.
39103 is oil fired with the tender at full height the whole length.
39104 is coal fired.

I'm going by whats listed on this website:

It looks great ! However there is the issue with the intro of the new MFX decoder. Locomotives now have the more functionality. In fact 100% of locomotives should have telex couplers as standard (IMHO).

I am going to wait to see what will be offered in the future. Also when will they offer MFX decoders that can be retrofitted to make a good locomotive better.

I will not be buying this one.

Hi All,

Yes I too would be waiting a while to see what comes out with the mfx decoders... It is likely the 39104 has the same internals as the 39103, which I wasn't too impressed with both the sound and running characteristics (fast slow down due to C-Sine).

Having said that I've just bought a 37652 diesel switcher that somes with TELEX at both ends... The 37xxx motors have good running properties.
Cheers

39104 is an MHI exclusive article and most dealers sell it for the RRP (though I saw it for 342 Euro already).
39104 has additional paintings (Kesselringe, buffers) - you have to decide what this is worth for you.

Tom
