Hi Adrian

The lok 39103 BR 01.10 is an era three lok but I run car set 42751 era 2 which looks very good and don't look at all out of place.Cool

Cheers

What do you use as an end car?

I wonder what sort of Era III car set would go with this?

Hi Adrian,

I use the end car in the set 42751 but I have looking at the catalogue and have seen car set No 42758 which I think is the proper era three car set. Catalogue says that car set 42758 is extention to start set 29855 but I think this set will go very well with 39103.

Hello Chris,

That image is at

I agree that it probably doesn't need the carriages from the start set..

Thanks

Hi!

Another option is to look for the old 24 cm all metal cars (no longer produced).
I run the 39103 with Era III (ca. 1965) two blue 4027, one green luggage car (40??) and a 4042 (that's a "Silberling" commuter car, but I like it).

I am sort of fond of those old all metal cars and their (not to scale) shortness makes them look good on smaller layouts or tight curves. No short couplers either, though.

Thanks Hans,

For about 6 months the Finance Director has been muttering that the Swiss 460s are pretty, but they don't do anything.. Where's the smoke, sounds and raising pantographs... "460s don't smoke I respond!".. So I have been thinking of having a small museum area on the layout where the Swiss Preisers can hop onto an old steamer for a quick run around the layout in between the scheduled Era V services..

The shorter cars may suit as our layout is not very big... (In fact, the Finance Director has noted that Miss 4 and I own more rolling stock than track!)

Thanks

Adrian
