I have a WIAD No. 306 Besandungsanlage in the original box that came with a Marklin train set purchased from an individual.

On one side is stamped, "MADE IN WESTERN GERMANY". The box indicates it is for HO Gauge trains.

It is a plastic structure that appears to be in new condition and has the original instructions.

I cannot find it in my dictionary, and the online translation programs are no help. Would someone be kind enough to tell me what it is? A light? A signal tower?

Might it have some collector value, or is it just for a layout?

Thanks.

Hi MarklinFan,

It is a Sanding Tower ( it supplies Sand to the Locomotives ).

As for Value I have no clue.

I think Wiad also made a portal crane with a remote contolled Bucket.
