Nice! Are the cheese "holes" made by decals on a yellow background? Or it is just a complete decal application?

Hey gator gang! I have always loved the Kroks of Europe myself but being a Yank haven't seen any on the rails and perhaps only once seen one in a pond...I just LOVE your archive photos and layout pix! Keep them coming! I am just getting into Marklin H0 at the tender age of 41 years. I have LGB trains euro prototype. My fav kroks are the Swiss Gotthard, and the German epoch 2 green livery versions. However, this gent I quote below has captured another switcher that I have been very fond of and perhaps will own some day...the Francais Krok... Quote:[size=1" face="Verdana" id="quote]quote: Originally posted by Mikael
Hi everyone. May I join the proud gator/croc club? Yesterday, I got my first croc. It is french, but that is allright by me. I don't intend to have long conversations with it

Dear sir, I realize that Switzerland is basically an international community but those two passengers waiting to aboard, well, I just can't fathom their discomfort at the chill they must be experiencing. The detail is amazing and a great model - lets hope it does not have any lemon properties [:0] Edited by moderator 11 January 2011 18:53:51(UTC)

Your krok now speaks German (Swiss dialect?) as well as French? This is a beauty...one of the best. Congrats! Quote:[size=1" face="Verdana" id="quote]quote: Originally posted by Mikael
Yesterday, there was a toy market in town. And I was lucky and got this one home with me: The 3352. So now I finally got a "classic" croc, as well as the french one I wrote about earlier.

Yes Ziggy, that is pretty much the case. Crocodiles normally refer to the Swiss C/e 6/8 and B/e 6/8 series of locomotives, whereas Gator normally refers to the E94 series of locomotives, and variants (OBB, etc).
The loco in my pictures is an E94 (later Br194) Gator.
The 3352 you refer to in your previous post is a Croc.

Got 'em (€350,00 from my old european dealer) but hand-selected & tested. No bugs [^] Ya know - live and let die [}:)] - so my report on CLASSIC GATOR SET #37225 is short. Don't get fooled by that factory picture - it shows the BIG C-SINUS E194 #39223 (photo-shopped to a black roof which turned grey, now) but never the #37225-02. However, by their excellent quality in material & craftmanship these heavy-metal Gators are great cash value [:p][^] - like that SET OF NOHAB-DIESELS #37670 some time back. No sounds but then the price tag is a bargain, anyway. 5-pole motor is business as usual, decoder is basic but does the job (those who want more can upgrade to fancy $$$ decoders via 21-pin socket). Or add your whistle the simple way by hammering that sound module from red #37226 Gator ... [}:)] Since fresh from the factory both locos are a bit stiff and noisy. Need oil & break-in time. Especially the transmission swallows its fair amount of this (we are talking real gears in brand new condition, here) - but after half an hour they run smoothly & quietly [^] Edited by user 29 September 2009 03:39:47(UTC)
