Hello dear marklin users community!
After almost 2 decades, I managed to buy my first Marklin CS1 60212. Don't ask me why, I know that in CS1 in 2025 is rubbish, but it was my dream since I was a child to own one... One thing led to another and now I have 3. (Judge me freely ...). My question is if I can connect two CS1s together to make a 4 locomotive console. Is it possible? Otherwise, I'll buy a terminal and connect my MS1s because I have 4 of them. I kinda love the old consoles. I know they are very limiting against a modern CS3 etc but, this is what I always wanted to do....
Any help/ideas/advice are greatly appreciated, and I'm really looking forward to get into model railroading again, because I was into a 10-15 year old hiatus.

Hi Nick,
Connect the track output on one CS1 to the ”sniffer” input of the other. Check the manual on how this work.

Hi Nick,
The Cs1 while old, is still a very capable controller. As described you can connect via sniffer port.

Hi Thanks for the response, do you have any idea on how that's possible? Because I haven't used a sniffer before...

Also I should note that I reached out to Marklin and they said that it is not possible to connect two CS1s together... Thanks again. Nick

Hi Nick,
I don’t think it’s restricted to fx (motorola protocol). All of your loks has to be defined in the primary CS1 as mfx, dcc or fx, of your choice. In the setup you define the sniffer address regardless of the real address. If it’s an mfx there’s no address anyway. As stated in the manual you can only set addresses between 1 and 80. On the secondary (slave) you create a virtual lok, perhaps with same name as the real one and define it as an fx lok with the same address as the sniffer address defined on the primary CS1. As also stated in the manual you can only use functions F0 to F5 on the secondary CS1.
