Hi Guys, I’m looking for an exploded diagram of the TT800. If anyone has a copy it would be much appreciated if it could be posted on the forum.
Cheers…

Thanks Jean, much appreciated.
Any chance someone can provide a photo showing the light change over switch behind the reversing unit. Mine is missing a few bits and I need to figure out what i am missing.
Cheers….

Mike I'll try and dig out my copy of the same document tomorrow, and see if I can do a better scan.

Hi The early TT800 had a schleppkontakt (trailing contact) to switch on either front or rear lights. Later TT800 had no trailing contact. Instead, lights were connected to each of the inductor coils. I don't have a picture of a TT800 Schleppkontakt but I have one on my DL800 from 1951. Here it is Principle on a rotating axle, a spring and clutch force a contacting lever to turn in one direction or the other. This was later replaced by a cheaper system connection the headlights to one of the inductor windings (usually wired at the Perfekt reversing unit). Cheers Jean |

The CCS 800 also had the same type of trailing contact. |

All high end locos during 1945-1951 had this trailing switch: CCS800, DL800, ST800, TP800, TT800, RE800, MS800, DT800 All this was replaced around 1951-1952 by using the direction relay to also power the lights. In one direction, the relay would connect one of the induction coils to the frame thus turning off the corresponding headlights while the other headlights were connected to the studs (B) through the motor and the other induction coils.
So the results were a slighly adverse current in the inductor, reducing a little its magnetic field and providing headlights with a slightly reduced voltage This is why Märklin did not fitted this light reversing system to smaller motors (SFCMs) both for economy and adverse effects on magnetic field. Cheers Jean Hi, just to illustrate what was saying Jean, here is the wiring : Best Regards Joël |
