That was one of the first locos I bought when I "returned to the hobby". I sold it because I decided to just have locos from DB and era III. Well I have changed that decision since, and I now have a 37433. But it's not the same...
For some reason I really like the looks of this loco. So I wouldn't repaint the frames...
Congratulations Ray!

Hi all,
Doesn't the grinding sound of Märklin models with gear mechanisms, when compared to the newer retooled versions, bother you? Even the streamlined 37080 sounds like a coffee grinder compared with, say, the new BR-01. I just can't stand it!
Best regards,
Armando García

Congratulations Steven! A very turbulent history for that loco. Damaged during the war and (nearly) destroyed by fire 2005(?).
When going through old Märklin Magazines you often find pictures of this loco.

I'm surely not the first to have this locomotive, but my 39013 (insider BR 01 150) arrived today.
It's number 59.
Exposure : 4 seconds
Flash : fired
Focal length: 38 mm
Aperture : F/29
Objective : 17-85 zoom
I made a quick first picture, more will follow

Nice one Piet.
Great photo! I always have trouble with the exposure for black steamers. It's difficult to get the contrast right.

I agree it takes some time to find the good position, light and so on.
Most of the time I use a tripod or use another stable position. A long exposure time and a remote control (or the timer).
The lights from the ceiling give sometimes an unwanted shine on the locomotive. In that case I use a reflection screen between the locomotive and the ceiling.
No direct flash. When I use the flash, it´s always indirect, mostly via the ceiling or a reflection screen with an omnibounce mounted (to soften the light). Sometimes I set the flash to 1/128 of it's full strength.
The longer exposure time and the very limited use of the flash gives much more detail and contrast in the picture without the bleached effect of a direct flash.
Hope this will help you.
With kind regards
Piet Brijs

Panagiotis and FMS thanks for the appraisal...
for the time being I just enjoy adding up to my collection and working once in a while (whenever I find the time) on my layout.
In the future I will probably need a layout just like MIWULA to run them all ...

most of them are in a filingcabinet.
DB, ÖBB, SBB, SNCF, SJ, SNCB
They are all digital, some with sounds,
My layout is 65m² and this consists of 20 modules.
I have sold a lot last year and the year before.

My total has increased to 61. I just got this 3166 from an ebay dealer. According to the dealer it's new in it's original box. I paid 69 euro for it.
Once I establish what motor it has I'll convert it to digital. I think it's a DCM, so I'll probably use a 60760 kit if I can get hold of one.

Yes, I think the "White Lady" was the prototype of the class. I'm not 100% sure though, because I have seen two locos described as "The White Lady". One is a white Br212 with red stripes, and the other is a Br143, all white with "AEG" logos on the side.
Are they both the "White Lady"? The first is 212 001, and the one below is 143 001, so I guess they are both prototypes of very similar classes. Perhaps someone can enlighten us further?

Yes Ray, they are both the same Loc. I remember Marklin introduced the orange striped one second. It is the re-painted version. It is the only one with windows up next to the roof vents.

I received my 3166 OBB Br1141. Unfortunately the box was pretty well destroyed in the post, but luckily the loco escaped with only minor damage. Two of the windows had fallen out, and one of the pantographs was mangled. I've stuck the windows back in, and replaced the pantograph with a spare I had around. Good as new!
Next job is to convert it to digital. It'll be either a LP3 with Hamo magnet, or a 60760 kit.

Called in to our local dealer and walked out with a Very New 33641 Series 6400 NS Cargo Loc. Had never been out of the SHop or Box. Set an address and away it went.
It is <s>digital</s> EDIT:
DELTA
and I am tossing up either to fit a MFX Decoder or a Lokpilot. Will have to check how a Lokpilot decoder will fit.

Nice Nev, is she a good puller?
An outsider.
I'm looking for the owner of that horse. He's tall, blonde, he smokes a cigar, and he's a pig!

We have this loc (Delta version) for a long time and it is really strong. It is really my doughters loc but she likes horses more.
It's a really good puller with AWD and a really good controlable engine even with a Delta decoder.
3 of those locs nowadays pull the modern Langer Heinrich (or 2 class 189 elocs) with some 45 cars.
Enjoy this loc! Regards, Henk.

Yes this one is Delta and really pulls. ( I made a mistake when I said digital in the first mention ) When I got it home it was the first time it had been out of the box and had never been on a track. No marks on the slider. took the lid off. set the address and away it went. it has a strong motor.
I love it. (along with all of the others)
