My dealer got it already - it's just an impressive model with great sounds! [:p]

It will probably be discounted 25% - 30% in a couple of months just like the other 3 Bellingrodts I have, the dealers couldn't seem to get rid of these overhyped and overpriced models.

Poor dealers - throwing their money away! Cool

I don't recall any of my local dealers still having one of the previous Bellingrodt models left. Mostly they were already reserved for collection clients and gone as soon as they had arrived in the shops. wink

Yes, you are well known for your selective memory and defense of the Maerklin machine.

Perhaps your local dealers in your bustling metropolis of Unter-Arschlingen didn't discount because there were too many people sucked into the hype at full price.

Lokshop, Schweickhardt and Modellzentrum were blowing Bellinggrodts out from June through October (over the last 3 years) at 100 to 150 euro's discounted, because no one would buy these ridiculously expensive models at full price.

What stuns me even more is that you would dare to argue even though there is no possibility that you know any better. You paid full price - I didn't, get bent!

Well if they are overhyped and over priced, why don't we just buy Plastic Atlas GP9's and run them on our layouts.

There is no need to bring your negativity into this topic.

There are many people here who are looking forward to the joy of these new models.

There is no need in trying to be negative, and attacking someones joy at a new acquisition.

Nothing negative simply a statement of fact - the first three sets have been consistently discounted and so will this one ... yes they are beautiful models ... but near as I can figure, you are paying for a lovely a slightly better sound decoder, a wooden box and a nice picture for the extra bucks.

I too will have a Bellingrodt V.4, but I will be even more pleased when i don't pay full price and have enough left for a matching car set.

I got mine 24% below RRP. And yes, that's still expensive. And no, I don't need the wooden box ...

The stummi forum said the display case cost about 60 EUR some time ago.

463 Euro @ 1.3 = US$602, which is what I am paying from AJCKIDS.

So prices are similar. In US we get a little later than Europe, but when new movies come out, you have to wait for that.

I think Stephen quoted the price including VAT. For export customer (outside Europe) we would be looking at 389 Euro plus shipping.

But considering AJCKids is able to match European local price, I would say it's still a very good deal.

Steven, thanks for the pictures!

I have been looking at the spare parts list, but the drawing for the 37052 is not there yet, just a parts list and I can't determine the part number of the 21-pin decoder adapter plate in the tender.

Can you please check your spare parts drawing and get me that info? Thanks in advance.

Thanks Stephen for sharing this interesting model.
BR 05 had the Olympic Rings on the tender in 1936, and also ran till 1950 in streamlined garb. Was it ever painted black?
I wonder if Märklin will release more of the 05, perhaps in post-war pre-1950 livery.

Juhan,
As Lutz said, an ESU sound decoder 52418, an ESU 8 pole plug wire harness (51950).
From the above photos, unsolder all the wires, replace it with a wire harness and plug the sound decoder in it.
At the moment there is no ESU mfx sound decoder for the BR 05, 06.

20 through 25% below RRP are no surprise from German mail-order dealers. Customers outside Europe will save another 16% approx. as VAT is deducted (for a total of 33% through 37% below RRP).

I have three principles when buybing locos.
1.) Country
2.) Dealer
3.) payment
4.) ebayer with good general feedbacks

1a.) Any country that offers a loco that I'm interested in (with a few exceptions)
2a.) the cheapest dealer.
3.) That includes Paypal, EFT, Creditcard, deducts the VAT and charges me postalfreight prices.

I just bought a 37050 from my dealer, they ran a week long special on in stock marklin loc's of 40% off list to clear out stock before inventory. I could not pass that up at that price. I'm pleased with it so far, the sound is a little week but good enough that I would only replace it if the decoder died.
I can't decide if I like the white lights which look too bright and too blue in Steven's photo or the original yellow led's.

I too will have a Bellingrodt V.4, but I will be even more pleased when i don't pay full price and have enough left for a matching car set.

Hi 7Gauges,

What would the matching car set be please?

Thanks,

Jeremy.

I did buy the 43258/43259 sets as described - thsecond part of the set was hard to get, however.

Then for added variety I put together the following using liliput stuff:
L336610 Flakwagen SdPI 4i, DR, Ep. II
L336611 Flakwagen SdPI 4i, DR, Ep. II
L383003 Salonpressewagen, DR, Ep. II
L384399 Wagen für Truppentransport, 3.Klasse; DR, Epoche II; getarnt
L385503 Salonspeisewagen für den Reichsregierungszug, DR, Epoche II
L385203 Maschinenpackwagen, DR, Ep. II
L385303 Autotransportwagen, DR, Ep. II
L383299 Wagen für Offizierstransport, 1./2.Klasse; DR, Epoche II; getarnt
In addition there were three other liliput cars related to the "Reichsregierung" that are out of production, one of them with Goering on the toilet, and the other a radio car (Funkwagen). I don't have the numbers at hand, however.

Last Sunday I got the 2 car addition for the Berlin Hamburg. Paid 50 euros, don't know whether that is a good price. I have both passenger car sets now, but no BR05.

I want this BR05 but it is just sooooo expensive...

Yes, in these "times" it is expensive, but I think it is a beautiful lok!!! I would love to have one, with some of the coaches that 7gauges mentions, above.

Too true, Panayotis. Unfortunately, it isn't my masterpiece (meaning, I don't have one).
