So what railroad related anniversaries are coming up this year that might cause some special models to be produced?

Hello, This year, there are coming a lot of anniversaries as 50 years of Intercity, 30 years of ICE and 40 years of TGV. 50 years of intercity is celebrate with the Br120 and 8 car intercity of 2003. E-V

I think we may see an orange TGV at some point, as well as new variants of the TGV Duplex. 2021 will mark the centenary of the SBB Be 4/7 and the Ae 3/6I , so either of those might be something we might see as a model. 2021 also marks 70 years of the Ae 6/6 (1952) 2022/2025 will mark 50 years of the Re 6/6 (1972-1975), so that will probably be next year. 2022 also marks 60 years of the TEE Gottardo RAe trainsets 2021 marks 50 years on the introduction of the Intercity services. Märklin already announced the BR 120 and DBAG IC (2003). I am sure that we will see some other variant on an Intercity train, perhaps even a reedition of the VT605 in InterCity markings

Regarding the Orange TGV, it’s very unlikely. For numerous reasons. - Hornby is already on the case - The orange tgv moulding does not exist yet and I’m 100% confident there are no sufficient liveries that may justify to create a new mould. Maybe will Märklin prove me wrong but it surely won’t be for 2021 Regarding the Duplex, be patient 21st of January is getting closer everyday A.

I’m hoping to see something older, like another Bavarian B VI or similar... perhaps an Adler!

It’s also the anniversary of the Brussels to Paris direct trains. Although any number of tooling made by Marklin could already could be used. TEE stuff being the most likely. But also the new Thalys livery. I was hoping for a new mould for this such as an SNCB serie 1500. (Paris-Brussels expresses) But I think that’s pushing the wishing well far to much 🤔 |

What about a br 65 with a different registration as the Insider one ? That happened with the br 75.4 and the br 95 lately and as there were three different versions in use, there are still opportunities !

I want to know when 39785 BR78 is going to be released. I wonder how Marklin distribute sequence of product. The surprise loc revealed on November has been distributed and delivered to the dealers , which is prior to the new BR78 announced to the catalog of earlier 2020.

I would think that January 21st will be a date where a lot of steam will be released. As far as model trains, let's wait and see...

MC Hi, with the lot of steam that you shedule on January 21st, is there a Chance we get the 141R1244 in the batch? Knowing what success this machine could have, I would be surprised it was not listed in the Highlights models for 2021 (if it had to be issued). But I have not seen it. So I don’t think we will see one in 2021. A.

The say that in one post somebody mentioned it... Churchill, OBB Krok? I could definitely see them making the Churchhill Steam locomotive, then re issue some Hogwarts passenger cars with it. I think Marklin has had incredible success with all their foreign steam engines. The French 241’s and now the Belgium Engine. I know i would buy and have bought them all.

The consist is composed of 5 elements. Nothing more. The expected TGV that will be released soon is a EuroDUPLEX TGV. And I know what I am talking about as I have seen the novelties. A.

Yeah, but that article shows it had four or five different road numbers in its career, with some subtle changes in appearance over the years, so there is quite a range of models that Marklin can make from this body mold to get a reasonable return on investment.

B Having a special interest in ÖBB train’s myself I find the model very exiting, but that pricing will make it difficult to justify a purchase for me. I’m still recovering of breaking the €330 price barrier. Perhaps the box also includes a golden can opener of a miniature and functional coffee machine in HO? I hope the mentioned €550 is not correct. Rinus

No, there were two more (nos. 1022 and 1023), but 14 years younger and with a different exterior appearance, namely the different cabs. https://igschieneschweiz...ae-48-1023-in-olten.html

Another photo of 1023 further down the page (black & white) with some goods vans in tow, seeing it has conventional couplings and buffers.
