I encounter a problem about the distance between the CS3 station and my module Marklin 60883. I will be gratefull to any person who can tell me his his own experience and prevent me to do some fatal mistake (for the CS3 or th 60883) . First. I would know why the 60883 need to be connect directly to the station CS3? Why he do not take the power from the track? Thank you for your attention. Alain

In short: - no there is no extension cable to install the 60883 (Link88) further. The reason is digital bus termination adaptation (would distort the digital signal) - using a 60145 (digital 4 ways hub) you can extend by 60 cm the distance - if this is not enough, you may insert a 60126 (2 m extension cord) between the CS3 (or CS2) and the hub 60145. Here it is allowed because of electronic termination of a bus Cheers Jean

I do not know the word in englsh) I had the purpose to place this 60883 between tthe second and the third canton to avoid not usefull cables. I cannot place the CS3 in th middle of my layout. May I use the Ethernet connectors 60083 et CS3 to join themselves?

		German trains era I-II and selected III, era depends on the mood, mostly Maerklin but i can be heretic if needed XD, heresy is no longer an issue.. LOL

Hi Alain You got me confused The M83 (60832 in its last version) is for driving solenoids (switches, signals) The M84 (60842 in its last version) is for driving lamp or led articles such as light signals The Link88 (60883) is to collect sensor chains to a CS2 or to a CS3. The "Ethernet-like" connector (RJ45) is found on different articles but do not contain the same signals so don't try to connect an Ethernet connection to a Sensor RJ 45 connection as you may see it on 60881, 60882 or 60883. As explained before to have your Link88 in the middle of your layout when your CS3 is far away, you need to use a 60145 hub and if need an extension cable between the 60145 and the CS3 nothing else is allowed. PS I don't know the 60083 Cheers Jean

There are 3 different feed back decoders from Märklin with very similar article#. 60881 = S88 AC / 60882 = S88 DC / 60883 = L88 (Link s88). These are all feed back decoders, but everyone has to be treated different. E.g. a L88 (60883) needs its own power supply. Look into their manuals! Which decoder do you have now really and you are asking for? Another decoder is a M83 (art# 60832) which is not a feedback decoder. It is just a normal decoder. Similar a M84 (art# 60842). I only attach one link for you. It shows the complete digital architecture of "Maerklin Digital". Studying this graphics you see all different decoders. Effectively, It was a mistake from me. I am worried by the marklin module 60883 and his connection with CS3. To clarify more. I attach a picture of the 60883's box with a draw of my connexion projected. Indeed this 60883 will receive signal of contact fromr MARKLIN 7555. BY THE WAY (other question): HOW DO YOU ATTACH THE 7555 ON THE TRACK TYPE C? Some one among you would confirm that it is suitable?

You can connect it direct to the CS3 or through a 60145(/or 60125) terminal box. Please see the manual for 7555 to see how to use it with C tracks.
