Hello everybody:

I'm traying to install the 89983 turntable but I don't know how to make the circle to insert the turntable in my next layout. If someone can help me I will appreciate.

Thank you in advance and my regards.

Couple ways to read this ... are you asking the dimension of the hole or how to actually make the cuts?

Do you have the manual that comes with the unit?

If not, here it is : https://static.maerklin....00a8dbc5361534237469.pdf

In case you don't have the manual and cannot link to the pdf above ... it's a 145mm diameter as shown on page 2 of the manual.

If it's a physical "how to cut" issue, your best bet is to get a compass, scribe out a 145mm diameter circle and then use a saw or some blade to cut out the hole. Depending on the surface, you can use an X-acto knife (For foam layouts) or drill holes and then use a saw to follow around the circle you've scribed with the compass.

Thank you Irvine for your answer, I hope I don't make a mess cutting that circle in the layout.

Hello, newby here, sorry for the silly question.

Got the turntable for 6 but no tracks included, can anyone please let me know which tracks I should buy to fit inside the roundhouse 89835 (still on its way to me)?

I'll be on Rokuhan tracks, I know I need adapters, only 2 (two) as the 6 tracks for the roundhouse will be Märklin.

Thank you so much!

Filipe

Two 8500’s per roundhouse stall. Or, I suppose, one 8505 per stall as at 220mm it is twice as long as an 8500.

Careful with Chris' (Mman) image ... that's showing the OLD roundhouse 8983 3-stall which has different entry dimensions vs the latest 89835 6-stall cardboard roundhouse kit. The old roundhouse sits BACK away from the turntable while the newer one sits really close to the turntable.

Latest 89983 turntable instructions:
https://static.maerklin....3ff69bc6c41638795581.pdf

Snip of instructions showing the latest instructions where you add 8503s instead of 8500s in-between the turntable and the roundhouse. After that - you use 8500s inside as shown in Chris' (Mman) attachment

I have the Turntable and Engine Shed there should be special rail tracks (8993) that have a gap in a rail that is bridged by a diode that stops the train automatically when fully inside the engine shed, its the same rail used in the reverse loop track setup in the Marklin mini club instruction book 0294

And just about any 1A diode will do, 1N4002, 1N4003, 1N4004... A 1A Schottky will be even better, if a good deal more expensive. Anyway, the point is the 1N4001 is a very generic diode, so you can freely substitute whatever you can lay your hands on.

Cheers
