Recently I added the OBB Reihe 1116 (Model 39358) to my collection. It is a Delta-fx locomotive with some digital functions. Unfortunately it has only one sound functions, the horn. I want to add a sound decoder to this locomotive, but I don't know if it is possible. Is there any idea?

You are going to face some challenges namely that loco has a C-sine motor but it is achievable. You really have to know what your doing. Last one I did was a BR152 "Fulda" for my friend Peter but it had a high propulsion motor. An ESU V3.5 sound decoder was used. It sounded fantastic when completed. SoftDrive® Sinus motors, which are often used on Märklin® locos can also be controlled by the LokSound V4.0 decoders.

Please have a read of this previous thread namely the description by "Applor"

11.5. Settings for the C-Sinus Motor
LokPilot decoders with the 21MTC interface can drive the new
C-Sinus motors indirectly via the circuit board installed in the locomotive.
The LokPilot can generate all necessary signals provided
you readjust certain settings:
Load compensation must be turned off as described in chapter
11.2.
The control electronics of the motor also need a switched logic
voltage provided by the LokPilot on output AUX4. AUX4 must
therefore be active while the locomotive is stopped and while it is
moving (in both directions!)

Just a quick note. My Roco Taurus ES 64 U2 097 MRCE/TXL has a very good sound decoder (Zimo) and the sound is really prototypical.
I don't know if you can use a Zimo PLUX 22 with a C-Sine, but it has that Taurus sound.

The real thing:

The Roco model (not mine):

and finally the Maerklin model (updated sound):

I also have the new Roco BLS Re 475 (Vectron) which also has nice sound, but the Taurus is still up there.
(30 seconds in)

I would like a more realistic sound for my loks. Most of them, especially the modern ones are missing that whine that electric locomotives make when starting up.
The best ones that I have are the above named loks plus the Roco ICN.
ICN (not mine):

One day, I will get around to reprogramming my Re 460s and other modern loks to have a more suitable sound.

Regards
