Conducting couplings for 42755 Orient Express set

Does anyone know what the part number for the contact that goes in the coupling pocket on the 42755 Orient Express coach set is (see photo)  Unfortunately (as you can see) I have some mangled ones, and the setup is entirely different, because these are Trix originated coach designs, to how Marklin do it. I expect the blue set that came out last year have the same system. I'm up for buying a packet of them, as I also have a couple of coaches in the Trix version of the add-on set to convert, using the E series part number, if only I can find it out. I have emailed service at Marklin and got an automated reply, but no information as yet.

For the future reference of anyone searching the forum for similar information, E22061000 is the part number Marklin have given me for these contact pieces. Apparently they come in a pack of two, i.e. enough to repair one coach. [edit] This is not the part needed, that part number is for the plastic coupler pocket.Edited by user 07 October 2016 18:30:00(UTC)

Hello Alan/All, Thanks for the spare part number. I have had this problem and have managed to fix them in the past but it's good to know what the spare part number is. Although with part number help from people on this forum and persistent searching I have been able to find all of the parts that I need to maintain my Märklin locos. Admittedly I have waited from 6-12 months at times but in the long run someone has always had what I needed. Sometimes a special order from a dealer (shout out for AJC Kids) or a German Ebay seller. Well, I have now had another answer from Marklin, apologising for giving me the wrong part number, and now saying the correct part number is E13280315.
I am going to wait a couple of days before ordering as they asked where I bought the previous parts from, and I think they might be going to supply me some gratis. So I'll wait and see if they appear on my order.

Hi Allan,
As I can see in your photos, your connectors are not mangled but bent. I had the same problem in my Orient Express but I was able to fix the conducting connector using a set of mini pliers to unbent them and now they work just fine. After that I used current conducting couplers so it will be no necessary to connect and disconnect conducting bars that comes with this train.
Your problem is common on all Trix coaches with current conductors, I have had this problem also in my King Ludwig set and on some other Trix coache.

Yes, I expect to straighten these ones and fit conducting couplers. However I also have a couple of matching Trix coaches that I want to fit with conducting couplers to attach to the Marklin coaches. To do this I need to fit these bits to the coupler pockets on the Trix coaches as they are arranged for each coach to do its own pick up of power. I think what I will end up doing is a picture tutorial of how this is done as part of this thread once I have the pieces.

Great idea! I am looking forward to seeing that, as I have many coaches that were not built for CC couplers and I want to add them. It would be great to lose all of those sliders and I can't handle naked wires strung between coaches. |
