Hello,
I want to digitalize a marklin 3000 loco, but I don't know what's the right permanent magnet to replace the current one. Does anybody know what's the direct ESU or Marklin replacement for it?
Thanks!! |

Check the following thread (it's a Sticky thread so will appear close to the top of the Digital forum), it has the part numbers for various motor replacement items including the ESU permanent magnets. https://www.marklin-user...al-conversion-of-M-locosLook for 'ESU HAMO Magnets'.

The Märklin parts do not fit out of the box and a screw must be modified or replaced. According to Märklin Magazine the Märklin decoders cannot be used with those "Hamo" magnets, so get a better decoder to suit the ESU magnet. |

Thanks!! If the brushes are the 60030 (carbon and cooper mesh) then the motor is a SFCM and there are two possibilities 1. Marklin 60943 motor (maybe some problems with the left lower screw) 2. ESU HAMO 51961 permanent magnet and the same rotor and motor cover (better to use an ESU decoder) If the brushes are 60146 (both carbon) then the motor is DCM and you can use 1. Marklin 60941 (motor only) 2. Marklin 60760 (motor and decoder set) which in my opinion is most appropriate for a loco like this (cheaper) Costas
