Hi all, I remember a photo years ago that had several BR 44's (no wagens) crossing a bridge to 'test' it's structural integrity. Dr D (glad I wasn't the driver! )

Originally Posted by: petestra Photo in post #148 looks to me like 6 or 7 wagon SBB freight train mix, but no longer than this? Peter That was my initial impression, too. And the first two wagons seem to be Italian type F or G wagons. But it could be that the train is either moving through an S-curve or being pulled from a siding on the far right side. If so, the remainder of the train could be obliterated by wagons 6 and 7... Edited by user 04 March 2014 20:15:53(UTC)

Hello everyone... If Slumburg was a little bit further West here's one train that would definitely be fun and easy to run. This is Union Pacific "City of Las Vegas" aka Las vegas Holiday Special, connecting Los Angeles with...Las Vegas (Duh!) But to UP insiders it was better known as the "Crap Shooter Commuter". The road number of the loco clearly indicates the passengers were in a hurry to arrive at their destination! No need for further explanation, I guess! (Easy to model too, I'll get to it one of these days) jvuye attached the following image(s): |

After the Union Pacific Daily Livestock Livestock Special (and the more modern HOGX cars) now the Crap Shooter Commuter - what next? And I thought I would be too whimsical when naming my Fanta Se RR trains (and locos), but now it seems if reality is a parody of my fantasy. Are there after all prototypical examples for the Hyperventilator and Shallow Gorge streamliner or the Prairie Tramper freight trains? |

If so, the remainder of the train could be obliterated by wagons 6 and 7... You can see the S curve on the free track in front. When you check the scene with Google Maps or Bing Maps you will find that there are no turnouts around and both tracks run side by side through an S curve: https://maps.google.de/m...Tessin,+Schweiz&z=19http://www.bing.com/maps...llinzona&form=LMLTCCSo I think it is very likely that all the freight cars we see are one train (or were one train that was split at Bellinzona (but I think this is rather unlikely)). |

For those who have been struggling due to lack of 1:87 locos and stock for these consists...here are a couple we can model: BR75 018 at Böblingen railway facilities running a commuter train in the late 50s....although BR75 is pretty borderline on a big loco. So I don't get in trouble for BR75, attached BR 41 360 pulling a short consist, but a lot of fuel :) BrandonVA attached the following image(s): |

Hi, You have all found great looking photos . Can you find any of DRG Kittel with some wagons? I would be very interested to see how it was running. Without wagons or with some wagons? I will try to find some myself too... Edit: All the photos I can find has only the Kittel, but no wagons. Janne |

Hi, Here is a short train on my layout. First a Pacific loco, 231A975 (Marklin 3317 with latest mfx decoder). Then a CIWL Orient Express diner car (Marklin 346/2j from 1950s). Then a freight baggage (VB model catalogue #23 all metal from 1950s). Then a 6 wheel local coach (Marklin 4204) And a 4 wheel local coach (Fleischmann 1406 from 1950s repainted for SNCF). The CIWL car is being sent to the CIWL works at St Denis in Paris for refurbishment. This car usually runs between Kehl and Munchen. It has been joined to a local SNCF train from St Rufus (an imaginary border town on my layout) to a town further west, Saint-dié-des-Vosges. There the CIWL car will be taken on to Paris by another train. regards Kimball |

Janne Voilà! Thank you very much! So it has the power to pull at least one wagon, so I give my 34251 DRG a try with three wagons (Märklin DRG set 43019). I will get this set very soon. Ross (Mulldog Lemon) sold to me his other set. Kittel has so small motor also in this 1:87 model that three light wagons will be the max lenght consist for it. Looks good with only one wagon too like in these photos. Here is some information about the Wurt. Kittel and it has only 80 hp power . Maybe it still has more torque anyway than my daily driver Ford Mondeo : Württembergischer DWJanne |
