The pair is become very collector items.

Nice pictures, Lutz!
I am wondering, what would be a realistic number of (full) cars for a BR 44 to pull? My BR 44 has 14 to pull, would it be able to that in reality?
In Utrecht (.nl), I often see a similar train (coal?) passing with up to 44 cars, pulled by three diesel lokos.

Please do bear in mind that the molds both of the BR44 and the ore wagons are a bit old now, which shows... What you see is thus not a defect, but an undesirable feature.
Luis
The cure for this maybe to stop buying those recycled models issued by Märklin based on dinosaur-old moulds (BR-03, BR-41,BR-44, E-103, Nohabs, etc). If there is no high demand for these models, Märklin will have to improve the quality of its products to face competition by other brands.
I can't be bothered anymore by these Nth-reissues of the aforementioned models.

I have a class 51. It has the same mold lines. It is more difficult to cast in metal than plastic. If Marklin could have wheeled these off without compromising the integrity of the boiler, they would have.
I have just compare my Marklin 3355 class 111, with my roco Lufthansa 111. On the Marklin, the mold lines are at the loco. corners, from bottom, to top. On the Roco, they are just in front of the cab side window and run from bottom all thway over the roof. They are less conspicuous on the marklin, but probably more protoypical on the roco.

The 26536 set price near 600 euros and 46255 near 140 euros at the latest.[:0]

And each car is 13,3 cm long + the gap between the cars
13,3x15 is 2 meters + gaps and 2x26(?) = 2,6 meters or something
Great!

For the specific road numbers see here:
https://www.marklin-users.net/fo...ault.aspx?g=posts&t=9185
I'm looking forward to this set!
One of our club members has the LH set, plus 2 of the 5 car addon sets and the Trix set of 12 cars, and no doubt he will get the 00775 set, making a total of 44 cars. We did put all his current car sets and the 2 locos, plus someone had the 12 red Railon hopper cars. The resultant train went nearly halfway around the club's layout, but the 2 locos pulled it without breaking a sweat. I wished I'd had my camera with me at the time!
I never did manage to get the LH set (hope Marklin reissue it sometime) so I will have to make do with my 37889 and a 5 car LH set, plus 7 other individual hopper cars I weathered to match.

39 LH wagons totally.
I missed out on a 00775.... [:(!][:(!][:(!]
But I have managed to order a Trix 24204, very similar to 00775...
......(see Lutz's posts of 10 October 2008).
Should have it next week sometime!
That makes 24 cars for me!

I'm looking for the owner of that horse. He's tall, blonde, he smokes a cigar, and he's a pig!

Yeah, from fettsau, but he wants 279 euro. Johnvandamme's price was 229 euro, but he has no more left. His price for the T 24204 was 209 euro....

You could also try my dealer Johnny at Hobby Tech in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He sells worldwide and I believe that he still has a set of these cars available. I checked his web site and his asking price after conversion I believe works out to $422.25 AUS dollars.
His website is
www.hobbytech.ca
and his Marklin selection is both large and very reasonably priced.
If you do contact him, let him know I recommended him.

Thanks for that James. I did look into getting a set from the US, ajckids also have the 00775 set. The cost worked out to be a wee bit more than ordering from Europe, once postage was taken into account. However, that would be an option for me, should I decide to get a set, given that the Trix 24204 set should be on my door step sometime next week.
Like Lutz and Nikos, I find the Trix weathered BR44's very tempting, and if it is as easy to convert to MM/mfx as what Lutz suggests, that could be an option. Of course now that the v3 update to the CS1 has DCC capabilities, I could leave the Trix loco as is, and update the CS1 instead!
Decisions, Decisions! And there's more on the buy list than what there are $$$ available to buy them!
Still, I am very thankful that I'm able to buy what items I do purchase, as I know there are people who cannot do this at all, and are struggling to just meet their basic living costs!

If it wasn't this forum i wouldn't have bought any LH related items.
The whole "LH program" costed me around 1600-1700 euros.
Now i am starting realising that [:0][:I][:0].
