My set of 12 Trix Langer Heinrich ore cars arrived today. I was expecting 24204, but johnvandamme sent 24202 instead, but not to worry, I didn't have either before now. The box was too big to bring home on the bus, but I did manage to bring a couple of wagons home in my bag with me. The cars have the original DC wheels on them, but they quite happily go around my M track layout with no problems at all - that includes going over curved turnouts, normal turnouts, 3 way turnouts and double slip switches. So I'm a 'happy chappie' right now. Hmmm, maybe I should take Lutz's suggestion and get 24204 as well! I now have 12 Trix 24202 cars, 5 Marklin 46255 cars and 7 Marklin 00751 cars weathered to match the LH cars, and with loads fitted. That's 24 in total.

David you mean T has producted two sets of 12 Heinrich wagons? Congratulation btw for your new wagons . These two sets (24202-24204) of 12 wagons have different road numbers? |

Nikos, the answers to your questions are Yes and Yes.
Lutz has previously posted the road numbers for each set, I'll see if I can find the thread.

Glad to be of help my friend. Did you convert your Trix 22043 loco to 3 rail AC running, and if so was it easy?

Finally, I have taken the plunge and ordered both Trix 22043 and 22044 locos. It may be a while before I put decoders in them, though. Is there a version of the ESU mfx Loksound with the 21MTC interface, and if so, what is the order number? I can see a Loksound with 21MTC, but not a Loksound mfx.

Try Loksound mfx 62499.. That's the only one that comes with 21MTC interface. BR 64 sound by default but I would assume the default sounds can be reprogrammed via the Lokprogrammer? |

Yes it can With the LokProgrammer you can upload any sound-program you want. For a Br.44 it is program #62402 |

You guys need to stop this nonsense. I have been looking at this thread for over two years now and a couple of weeks ago I could not stand it anymore [:I]. Modellbahn has just delivered relevant sets[:I][:I] to mate who is keeping them for me. Somewhere in middle of topic there is a small digression re mould marks. See link below to photos that can be enlarged of the steamer in my 50's set. David or anyone else with knowledge of these things, could you confirm my impression that I don't see any? It is totally ok to show me that I am wrong. It just increases my knowledge. Thanks, oops link would help[B)][B)] http://www.modellbahn.co...loco.1000.modellbahn.jpgjp. Jeremy. |

Hi All, Suprised to see this topic pop up, so if I may also modestly mention my Long Henry addiction. I ordered the M26536 from Lokshop right after the new items brochure came out in 2007, along with 2 x 46255 sets which I thought would make a nice 20 umit train. I hesitated on ordering the M37883 Br44 but when The M00775 12 car add on set came out I ordered that from Lokshop, so now we're at 32 wagons. However, but in '06, I allready had bought on ebay a M46244 "Ore Car Train" of five wagons with "Centre Buffer Couplings" This set is a "Eurotrain" exclusive but it does have the yellow corners on the wagons, as per the pic onthe 00775 box, but no buffers and just close couplers, so I thought I would keep them after all, having previousl thought I would sell them, thinking they do not belong in the Long Henry Train !!?? Then in a mailing from RJF Trains, he reported Walters were getting rid of two 00775 Sets, and other items cheap, so I got a set and a friend here in Auckland, now living & working in Istanbul, Ken got a 00775 set too, to go with his M37883 he'd picked up in Holland along with five wagons from the 00775 set. I thought I had 50 ERz wagons now = 4000T train, but a recount showed I only had 49 so I aquired one of Ken's five he got with his BR44 from Holland, all good Now of course a 50 Wagen 4000T Train must be a double header so I did a search back then (late 2009) for M37883 and found one for auction on ebay by MiWuLa, won that at a reasonable but not cheap price, along with an M39800 V200, that I'd also hesitated and missed out on from LS, and a few other bits and pieces, mostly Wiking etc cars. They deducted the mwst but then double charged me the freight. The M37883 BR44 is a beaut, but the V200 literally blew up with flames and smoke, that story another thread soon promise !! Now how do I deal with the five wagons in the 46244 set that have the yellow corners but no buffers. Following this thread and the links, and what was left of Lutz's postings It seems the wagons come apart relatively easily, so it seems I need to buy another 5 erz wagons say from the 00775 set that are kicking around on ebay and do some Marklin Model bashing . What do you guys reckon about vandalising a Marklin set NZMarklinist attached the following image(s): |

Interesting, thanks Tom, Marklin kind of led it's customers astray then, with the pic in era IV guise on the box top of the 00775 set. The two Loks in the picture are era IV numberted Oil Fired BR43's and it looks as tho the Erz Wagens are without buffers as well, so I do find a couple of 43's and remove the buffers on all the other 45 wagens or buy five more Erz Wagens from the 00775 set that are floating around on ebay and then sell my 46244 set, for a big price of course due to their rarity/at or do I kit bash them ?? I need to dig it out and compare it with 0775 Erz Wagens |

Hi Steven, thanks for the pictures of your Long Henry Train, the two 44's look great together. I also got all the Marklin Literature at the time, all very good and sowed the seed I guess that caused me to buy the whole train, 50 Erz Wagens and all !! I just need to get those Emsland modules of mine finished which will have a small siding with a Train Safe connector for unloading the train from the Travel Safe Tubes, that'll save a lot of time setting the train up but cost a few $$$ |

Does your engine pull all 20 cars ??
I have the Z scale edition and tried to run it at a train show on the Zo Cal layout yesterday at the South Coast Botanical Garden train show. I needed to add a second engine. I only have one Long Henry engine so I added the blue articulated malet. I didn't take any pictures, bummer, but maybe sone of the other members did and if so, I'll post them.

I don't think the Trix 24040 set was ever considered part of the Langer Heinrich series of items produced by Marklin and Trix - these are coal hoppers and were produced in 2003 whereas the LH items were produced in 2007.
All the other items in your photo are LH items, but there are also 2 Trix locomotives missing from your photo. These 2 locos duplicate the 2 Marklin ones - same running numbers - but are factory weathered. Items numbers are 22043 and 22044

Yeah, I've seen those weathered Trix Br44s. Airbrushing red/brown paint all over does not a weathered loko make. Proper weathering has greasy/oily grime, hard water stains and rust in corners and high wear areas. Spraying brown paint all over just makes it an abandoned loko rusting away in a siding. These look nothing like the real thing on the Trix and Marklin boxes. http://www.web-hgh.de/p03_TRX_2204x_BR43-44.htm |

I have both of the Trix locos and the weathering looks OK to me. Plenty of members of our club have commented that they like them and have offered to take them off my hands if I don't want them (for free of course!) Trix 22043 Trix 22044 For comparison purposes, here is a picture of the weathering on my Marklin 55585 G1 BR58.

Hi David , on post # 187 showing your Trix cl. 44 is the frame on the bottom one bent or is that just an optical illusion. The frame looks like its curved up at the cab end. On the top picture the gap between frame and lower pipe on boiler is even but the lower picture shows the frame curved up to the pipe. Just curious . Both locos are stunning. Take care Eddie

Yes, the frame (or walkway) was 'bent' - it clips into the loco body and had come out, presumably when it was shipped from Germany. It was in fact this photo that alerted me to the fact that the walkway was bent and this has since been corrected.
