Hi all,

The Easter Bunny came a day or two early, but I am not complaining.
Brought me a big brown present .. 39562 !!
Now my 1990s model 3556 has got a partner.
They seem quite happy together ..

But 3556 is Analog and 39562 is Digital ..
So I'll have to run one on the Catenary System and one on the Ground Pickup.
Anyway, for the moment they can just caress each other.

PS >> Thanks to Sander for delivery all the way from Netherlands to South Africa of a safe parcel !!

You definitely needed a brown one to go with the green.
Why do grown men play with trains?
Their wives insist they are insane
But their dreams they won't let down the drain
'Cause there ain't no thing so hard to lose as those disappearing railway blues.

Very nice video, thanks Jeremy! ThumpUp ThumpUp ThumpUp I wish I was there!!!

Can you remind us what the loc first letter stands for? (eg A in Ae8/14)?
I know it has to do with speed, but can't remember the speed limits: R, A, B, C, D (does E exist?)
I guess e stands for electric, am I right?
And of course the numbers are the number of powered axles/the number fo total axles.

Thanks in advance?

Cheers,
Ricky Smile

Jeremy,

Timber is getting very scarce and time will tell which of these 2 items will be a better investment.LOL
30 timber carriages with finely selected timber pieces personally hand carved and preserved for generations to come, no zink pest, no rust and no electrical malfunctions will ever occur and you never know with some magical help from above or below if you stick one of these timbers into the ground it may grow to a big tree one day.

please re-consider your verdict.

Hi Ricky,

Not sure about the Ae and Re and others. I believe the the 8 and the 14 has to do with the number of drive wheels and
guide wheels - but don't put any money on that!!

Jeremy.

A = speed between 80 and 110 km/h
e = electric
8 = number of powered axles
14 = number of total axles

And yes, E exists (= shunting locomotive).

Sorry guys, it was stuck on page 8.

Had to get the approval from the Authorities to ok it so children from the age 8 and upwards are allowed to watch it, had to show my birth certificate.LOL
Cutting all the timber was very tiring and getting it done before the train departed, as you can see 2 had been left behind.

P.S.

question:

when making several video clips (youtube) how do you download them so viewers are not able to watch them or see it but at the same time you can link them all together with the video editor (youtube) and then make it public.

I had the layout for about 30 years so it isn't too bad and it has been holding on pretty good without any major dramas.

Only in Australia, that Croc hanging off the Helicopter was just probly just over Nev's back fence too LOL .
Here's a little ol German Gator I got myself back in June off ebay, a sweet runner even tho it was like new and if run at all not for seven years or so. I intend to give it a full lube before much use. Huh Sorry in advance for crap photo's but I'll do some nice one's when I get some time.Blushing
Got the Swiss Green monster 39563 just b4 Xmas '09 out of the Catalogue and also have 39565 coming that I got a heck of a deal on, from a German ebay dealer. Can't compare really to the Vintage beauties some of you have. Congrats on those, specially that real early one of Jeremy's.

I picked up a 37225-05 in Nurnberg last week. It is the first German Krok to add to my lizard collection. Seemed like a good price but I can't find it on the Marklin website. Will try to get pictures of the whole collection once I figure out the technology. Have to call it Rote Kopf with those red pantographs. Must be a sucker for red heads. I purchased it at Modelbahn Sigmund on Schweigger Str. where I had bought an 18.4 five years ago. It is the type of place where one opens the door and the store falls out.

Hi Michael,

congratulations on your first Gator - there may be more of 'em in the future ... LaughCoolThumpUp

Since #37225-01/02 was a release of year 2009 you won't find prices at M's site, anymore ...
For some years already they do away with such but never mind. List price of set been €400,00.
Re more information about the set - we discussed it here in this very topic (page 8)
