YES YES YES!!! Thank you MärklinBigGrin

Some of us has been waiting, waiting and waiting for a miracle.
Now it is here! A remake/update version of the EMD F7 in the
nice, proud and classic, Armor Yellow UNION PACIFIC version.

And a matching tinplate UP caboose + classic blue Märklin-
retro-box is a perfect spot on to this item. Good Thinking!

Has Märklin read our minds here?
Now we can skip the outlook of old and real bad condition
3061/4061 items! High prizes of theeze has been a joke Bored

Good work Märklin!
And you must say, in concidre these F7-shells are 50 years
old in construction, they are not so bad compared to more
modern and newely made H0-modells locomotive-shells.

Tom,

It's the only thing I could think of, as it seems to be the most common failure point at least with the older ones, no?

Maybe something to do with the new 60130 converter?

Lokshop has posted an English version of the new items preview (Lokshop version, not Marklin's English version).

http://shop.lokshop.de/new_items.php

That also means that they have the new items in their purchasing database, but no prices as yet.

Yes, you were right. That would fit beatifully together with the 37610 that I have.

Not so keen about the 600 euro price though!

It´s the same price as the 37624 but that one didn´t include a caboose!

So what! It's still very expensive. Must be the fancy 1960's retro blue box (which I like, BTW).

The street price of 37624 is around 360 euros, a far cry from 600! Hopefully, 37629 has a similar, or ballpark price.

My observations on the new items:

- Only one loco I really want, the BR39 DRG. But the pricetag might keep me from buying it. The same thing happened with the BR45 from last year, I didnt get that one either.
- The 3 car DRG freight set is nice, I will definately get that.
- I like the black 03.10 streamline loco. Ray, I read you want only the red one, maybe we can arrange something BigGrin? On the other hand I already have 2 (a green and a red one) so that is actually already enough.
- 5A on the CS2 at last. That was the biggest reason for NOT buying a CS2 before. I hope this will increase competition between CS, Ecos and other control station makers. Too bad they have to increase the price once again.
- The Iphone app is nice. But why does it have to be paid for again? The CS2/Ipod is already pricy enough, why would you pay for a small piece of complementary SW?
- I actually expected the old tooling BR23 again. I wonder whether the old stuff will keep on selling. I think the feelings of nostalgia has limitations.
- Why on earth do they reissue the old Rheingold? I don't think this is a good idea. There are more then enough alternatives to get on ebay and they kind of promised it wouldnt come back.
- A lot of big carsets. Trains seem to become very long, or at least M thinks they should be. My layout only supports trains of up to 4 carriages length. I can't run most of the new items Bored.
- I was expecting a cheaper BR24 or BR74 in DRG livery. I guess this will have to wait to next year.
- Possibly I will get the NMBS series 28 as well. Totally not my era, but I like the prototype, and they are affordable too.

My favorite 2011 train set from Marklin for the new year is, by far, the Wabash Blue Bird. Even though I much prefer buying models of European train sets from Marklin and buy American models from Lionel and MTH in O gauge, this one is extremely impressive and I will probably have to order one.

For those that don't know much about the Wabash Blue Bird, Marklin looks like they have depicted nearly exactly as it was:

http://wabashrhs.org/pics.html

http://wabashrhs.org/images/bluebrd1.jpg

http://wabashrhs.org/images/bluebrd2.jpg

I realize the Wabash locomotive in the above pics is not the Alco PA1 Marklin has in the set. However, I believe Wabash did own PA1 locomotives and run them on the Blue Bird route which went from Chicago to St. Louis.

CONGRATULATIONS MARKLIN ON A JOB WELL-DONE...GREAT CHOICE FOR A MODEL Smile

Well, in the pdf Catalogue says 999, but in the Online Database says 1,999 ! Most probable I think is the 1,999 units.

37676 DSB Nohab -- something to pull my other DSB passenger wagons
42816 DSB Passenger wagons -- add to my set

Also, a must:
26490 Blue Bird -- FD said "ooh, pretty" so I take that as a yes...!!!ThumpUp ThumpUp

Possibilities:
46350/46351/46982 -- I might be a heretic and just buy them without the loco...

This whole set thing looks nice:
41462/3 steel sets
48294 Torpedo wagon + 37820 loco?

Also, a long time desire:
37607 TEE Diesel Train

A question:
36577 -- will the goods wagon/caboose/end "whatever" be made available seperately? I've already got the other four Donnerbüchse.
Cheers,
Damon

I don't know if the baggage car with control cab will be available separately.
Four-axle control cars are available separately, so why not?
OTOH they might try to increase their profits by releasing it in train sets/car sets only (at least in the near future).

Sooner or later it will come in green. And probably in red variations, too.

Tom

Just had a look at the trix stuff, and placed a pre-order for the OBB jaffa orange loco and cars...I have been wanting to get some passenger Austrian trains and this is the perfect excuse...I can't imagine when I will see this on my layout, but I suspect sometime late in the year...

Agree, my friend ThumpUp

BTW - for less money M's excellent classic 24cm tinplate coaches run way sweeter than this
$$$ plastic/aluminum mix. I do own both, but definitely prefer (and buy) the tinplates, again.

fyi ... for customers in the USA, my dealer has already received info from Walthers on the new 2011 items, over a month earlier than he got the info from Walthers last year. In addition he got Walthers pricing ... seems to be about 5% lower than the current pricing when comparing the 2010 TGV price vs the new 2011 Thalys. Maybe they are listening to US customer complaints ... or maybe Marklin has and has made Walthers do something about it ... we can only hope!!

And another point, did everyone know that the new 24360 C track is made up of the bases of the 24188 and 24172 connected together with long uninterrupted rails installed??

Marius, the same question was asked earlier in either this thread or the 'Which 2011 items are you buying' thread. The Marklin online database says 1999, the catalogue 999 units. The feeling is that the database is correct, and that there is a typo in the catalogue.

Thanks a Lot Damon,
I have avoided looking at the New List but I think the 37676 DSB No-hab and passenger wagons are definite for me PLUS maybe the Tee Diesel.

I do have parental permission for a Danish, norwigian and Sewdish train for this year and I do have 2 Electric TEE trains, One M and the other HAG Loco/Flieschmann Carriages.

These Dutch models are all older items with a new "number", new "colours" or "sound". But they are very nice ThumpUp .

Steven/All:

If you go to the Maerklin.de website, you can look up new products using the Produkte/Produktdatabank. The MSRP (EURO) is listed for each item.

http://www.maerklin.de/d.../suche/produktsuche.html

Discount dealer prices will be listed when those dealers determine their own prices.

Everything I want appears to have a retail cost of 300 euros. Hopefully Lokshop will be cheaper.

Take care I like Marklin and will defend the worlds greatest model rail manufacturer.
