I am interested in the following:

26559 Branch train with the Glaskasten
26557 Bavaria set with the Re4/4 I
26564 Br24 set with unbauwagen
36140 Wurttemberg T3 (cute and hopefully very cheap)
37483 E70
39441 E44
37283 V188
46094 Goods wagon set
37675 CFL 1800
37044 SBB Re4/4 I
37580 Glass train
37977 Bavarian B VI
45251 Beer wagon set
43502/3 Interregio coaches

Yes, many of these items are repaints or reissues, but this only matters if you already had them! I won't get all the above, but I am particularly interested in the Glaskasten set, and I will decide on 2 or 3 other items.

I am very happy to see the 24cm metal coaches, but none of those being produced interest me at the moment.

The new tooling for the 03.10 is good, but don't those solid front wheels look ugly? Hopefully another version will come out in time with proper spoked wheels.

I am slightly disappointed to see very few new Hobby models. The T3 is interesting, but they have gone for the ultra cheap simplified valve gear type of "starter set" toy loco. Pity, but I'll still probably get it.

BR 01.10 as a Bellingrodt model... hm, can't hide my disappointment, this is not as glamourous as the previous editions...

I think I'll get the new BR45 (37453) running number 45-026 to join my 45-004.

A couple new Taurus is good Drool
Also good is the BR110 and BR141 in two colour scheme... lots to choose from the E-lok range.

Swiss Fans can rejoice with new TEE Bavaria, reissues of SBB Cargo Ae 6/6, and 43670 SBB EuroCity set.... all pretty safe choice and should do quite well..

Don't know yet if I should get the SBB Cargo Ae6/6 and Re6/6 this year...Confused

I am thrilled to notice that at last! Yes! at long last! Märklin has left the nonsense and will issue the D-Zug-Wagen set to go with the new BR03 in CORRECT 1:87 scale!

Finally, something long awaited to purchase from Märklin this year!

The model number is 43969 for those interested.

(Edited: I am sorry. I think I was over-excited and didn't read the icons correctly. Unfortunately, it will only be the "Schürzenwagen" at the right 1:87 scale. None of the D-Zug-Wagen are. What a pity!)
Best regards,
Armando García

A BR18.1 is also good news... I want one of these on its own rather than part of a set - steamer sets are usually too dear!

I passed on the current Re4/4 I which is based on prototypes coming from the first production batch. Prototype wise, they look better without those end doors!

So now that Marklin had fulfilled my wish, I'm planning to get one of these newer second production run model - not yet decided whether should go for 39044 or the TEE Bavaria. Apparantly this model will also come with lighted cab! Can't missed that.

It's actually very expensive!

Just over a year ago you can get a 29010 set with a BR01.10 (MFX Loksound) along with other things in a whole starter set for almost the same price...
Or you can just get the BR01.10 on its own for less than 200 Euros (incl VAT) from this set.

The point is, once you've put a model in a starter set, it lose much of its exclusivity.

IMO with the last edition, they should really have gone out with a bang...
A BR 10 or a BR18.3 with Witte deflector would had been much more interesting (and Marklin do have the tooling to make them!).

Some have mentioned the high pricing on these new items. I would suggest you keep an eye on the price comparison table that Stummis maintain. This should enable you to see what the max / avg / min price is, and who has those prices.

I've made a pdf of the Marklin 2010 New Items from the Lokshop link Stephen gave.

Anyone who wants it can download it from http://rapidshare.com/fi...Preview_2010_English.pdf

No doubt Marklin will release the English version of the brochure at a later date.

Of your list, only the Re6/6 will be equipped with 5-pole motor...

If you notice the brochure said "4-axle powered through cardan shaft" for Re4/4 I, BR110, and BR140. These are all recent, new tooling models and there is no way that a DCM 5-pole motor can drive such a lok.

This can only mean that it will be using "glockenmotor" - either Maxxon or 5-pole skewed motor w/flywheel; which misleadingly also use the 5 star symbol as motor type.

You did raise an interesting point;
All previously released models using these toolings have Soft Drive Sinus motors; why the change of heart to use glockenmotor now?Confused

I hope they use Maxxon as they do on Trix BR141 and BR218... then it'll only be a minor issue.
Gotta say, SDS generate far greater torque at start compared to Maxxon or any other type of "glockenmotor".

Wow!

I saw the news brouchoure today when I was visiting a new dealer in Malmoe. I didn´t notice it really, because it looked like the old one.

I saw the link to Märklins site and browsed the models one by one. I almost fell on my back when I saw 37624. The color scheme!! It´s so sleek and sexy! I´ve found 5 I-want-to-buy-models, but I´ll choose 3 I´ll-buy-no-matter-what-models:

*37624 F7 549,95 Euro. It´s double the price of my F7 Amtrak. It´s 50 Euros more than I paid for my complete California Zephyr train 26600! But I want it! I hope this will be released in december!

*37976 Mikado 399,95. It´s just 50 Euros more than the other Mikados.

*45642 US-Güterwagen-set 379,95 Euro. I just got my 45649!

I really hope none of these models I´ve listed will be released before summer!!
BTW... Märklin should build a real hype before they release their products, just like the videogames-industry. Imagine waiting outside the store till it opens and you get your hands on that first-hand prebooked TGV or what you want to buy!

Plastic, plastic & plastic again, too much plastic......
TGV is all plastic ! A lot of items in plastic !
Not even one new tooling in metal !(excepted the insider model )

Where is the C-Sinus motor ? Not even one new tooling with brushless c-sine motor!

Just mentioned this on another thread...
It looked to me that all the talk about the end of SDS just got one step closer...

Remember when the large C-Sinus was killed?
More models started to use compact Sinus motor, the range got reduced in 2005, then further reduced again in 2006; and suddenly gone by 2007...

This year, E10/E40 and Re4/4 I had been converted to glockenmotor where previous versions use SDS.

If we are to see more SDS models converted to using Glocken then it's probably a done deal...

Actually, the Re 4/4I (Green and TEE) will have metal shells, as will the Re 6/6 in the Re 10/10 and Re 620 variations.

The reedition of the V200 is in metal as well as is the VT08.5, which also has the SDS motor.

I'll have to concentrate on other brands for a further year I'm affraid.

The ÖBB model is 1043.

What I wonder is if Märklin has changed the top front lights to the Austrian style as seen from the prototype photo on the page before the models or if the have kept the Swedish style.

If Märklin has changed to the newer Austrian style these models could also be of interest for many in Sweden as basis for the current liveries after these engines were sold back to Sweden by ÖBB.

I said not even " one NEW TOOLING in metal + NEW model (tooling) with C-Sine brushless motor"
I don't consider RE 4/4 I aand vt 08.5 as totally new tooling .
You are right about RE 6/6 and variations : its the exception that proves the rule !
( V200 is also a re-edition)

The single completely new tooling is without " brushless SDS motor" ( Insider model )
Are Brushless SDS motors too expensive ?
Specificity & "uniqueness" (with charm & Character )of Marklin items are slowly disappearring...
BTW some re-editions are a good idea ( for those who missed them 10 years ago).
The good old F7 is back , the light Mikado as well : they are my favorite with BR 45 + small V140 + VT 08.5 and insider model
( V 140 was a real fine model .A far as I remember designed by Trix...)

The TGV should be made of plastic, i remember the problems that the 37606 had, due to its weight although it had two very strong motors...

I have reviewed the new items and there's a change of mind from my part. BigGrin
Here's what I'll get this year:

* The Br 45 Item 37453 - It will have as a sister, the 3rd Ed of Bellingrodt, the 37452, to run along the routes with
* The Br 96 Item 37967 - I do not have a Br 96 yet
* The 18.1 Item 37116 - No particular reason. Just looks interesting.
* The E 70.2 Item 37483 - It's way cute not to see something like that on the tracks
* The E 19 Item 39192 - It just looks awesome!! It has no sound, but in the end I don't care too much about that.
* The TEE Bavaria Item 26557 - Looks good and unique. Wink

That's it for me. Not sure yet if the last Bellingrodt is really worth it. Same goes for the tin-plate passenger cars. I have never seen one of those and it would probably be a on the spot decision. So yes, it will be another year of expensive stuff. Cool
DRG, DB and SBB
Era II, III and IV
Sincerely,
Sebastian

RE 6/6 was already planned for 2009, then was postponed to 2010...
Where is the Marklin design office ? What are they doing actually ? Did Mr Pluta fire the whole Marklin design office with "Marklin tradition" and its specific Marklin "know how" ? Are they busy to design a new range for the future ? What will be this new range : cheap motors + cheap design in plastic for Chinese manufacturers ?

The TGV should be made of plastic, I remember the problems that the 37606 had, due to its weight although it had two very strong motors...

I'm sorry : I have one VT11.5 (complete) and I make it roll and roll and roll again without any problem!
It's probably my best/ one of my best Marklin item ( yes it has double motor + double sound : one in each motorized car .....Like stereo Wink and yet hearing the sound at each end of the train is quite realistic...but it's diesel )

I'm looking for the owner of that horse. He's tall, blonde, he smokes a cigar, and he's a pig!

I'm not thrilled with the new items either, but let not spoil the fun for those who are exited about them.

A lot of people in this topic have really been looking forward to this yearly event.

There are other topics were one can critise the policy of Marklin.

Rh1041 ... Rh1043 Blushing Blushing sorry...

I'm quite curious to see the front of these models too. There should be something that justifies the €439.95 price tag of this item.

Im also wondering if these trains are equiped with the DCM engine or the Glockenanker engine.

Since the Roco Rh1043 is no longer on sale this seems the only Rh1043 available at the moment. Wenn equiped with a Glockenanker engine and provided with the right front arrangement I might be persuaded to buy it.

The BR 03 is a must have
The 2010 Bellingrodt is a BR 01, so I like that too.

Not a BR 03, but a BR 03.10 (new mould).
Not a BR 01, but a BR 01.10 (a form variation of their old BR 01.10).

Only 3 really new items (if I counted correctly):
- TGV
- Glass train
- Insider

They announce a new DHG 500 tooling (only 1 axle powered Sad ).
There is a new BR 89.3 (at least I ne'er saw such a loco from Märklin).
After BR 89.0 II, BR 89.0 I, and BR 89.70-74 we now get BR 89.3.

The BR 01.10 CBE is a form variation.
BR 110.3 with machine room window is also a form variation (I'll wait for a blue era IV model).

Some train sets are shown with prototype pictures only. This could mean there are some new moulds, too.

And these are all H0 items. They have new moulds in gauge Z and gauge I also.
Regards
Tom

Isn't the BR140 is a new variation as well - with 5 headlights?
Then there is also the Re4/4 I - partially new tooling for its metal body.

For the hobby models; Marklin always launched 1 or 2 new models every year.

In the mid-to-upper range, there are only 3 entirely new toolings; TGV, Glass train, and 03.10.. none of them with SDS...

Thanks Stephen, I wondered if that was the situation.

I noticed that the VT08 is due in February. Better start saving your pennies for those who want it!

Arrgh.. didn't notice that..

Well, they better give some discount on it otherwise 500 Euro w/VAT doesn't sound all that funny..especially considering I got my Bellingrodt BR45 for much, much, much less...
