Hi Guus. I agree that the HAG model is better although i dont own either (as yet) after the problems with the Marklin model I think I would go for the HAG (if I have any cash left after Christmas)

I agree with Guus having recently bought a HAG Erstfeld model from Mike. What is so different from Maerklin is the depth of the speaker sound and there are certain more of them. Gee, Mike, if HAG sold Erstfelds to Maerklin then I could have saved some amount of money going Maerklin! In any event, I wanted a Swiss-made model for my Swiss level and am very happy with the purchase despite the weird couplers throwing me at first. (They do work very well.)

Nev. Great idea. To increase profit for M supply all jails with layouts. Never could quite figure out how to get cash from the bank without getting caught...and I had the keys!! These HAG models can be addicitve and thankfully it is only Swiss they make.

Received 4 replacement connectors today for my 37363. Quote:[size=1" face="Verdana" id="quote]quote:Originally posted by Seetal
Hi all,
So the only people who knew about this before they were on the shelves were Swiss dealers and those on their mailing lists. I have not recieved the latest Marklin Insider yet (I presume you are referring to 4/2007). While the price is prohibitive for me it is still nice to know what was made.
If anyone hears of such special items that are not announced in the general way, I would appreciate it if they let this group know.
Thanks.
Jhn
Not sure if you are interested, but I found this in my email..... http://www.zuba-tech.ch/...spezArtId=0&back=resLooks like it is due out in February and will be limited to 600-800 pieces. If you google the item, you see it is available at a few other shops as well.

Quote:[size=1" face="Verdana" id="quote]quote: Originally posted by plavnostruev
I might have missed this point early on, but didn't HAG made this model for Marklin? Or not? I have received several HAG "Erstfeld" models very recently and they are dead ringers for Marklin, except HAG model is equipped with their "F... you" coupler Here is HAG: Mike Mike, you will note that the Hag model has the correct update handrails and windshield wipers, while the Maerklin model still has the original design as well as the mounting for the crest on the side. The Maerklin model is a repaint of the 37361 model made specially for Maerklin CH and the swiss market. It is not a Hag product. Interestingly enough, Roco will be releasing a model of a similar cargo lok, also with the new handrails and windshield wipers. regards Mike C

Quote:[size=1" face="Verdana" id="quote]quote:Originally posted by hqstu Strange - still fits with my theory of a pallet load of them being dropped...
As some of you might recall (see one of the early postings), I got this loco as a Christmas present from my wife. My model didn't have to travel far - from Barp-Tech at Winterthur a couple of hundred meters to our home. The UIC connectors and the slider are entirely undamaged. However, the handrails on the front of both cabs had to be slipped back over the slits were they normally rest. And on the roof, the silver-colored "Hauptschalter" is severely bent sideways. If this part is made of plastic (anyone happens to know?), then it will probably break if I try to bend it back to its standard position, so I'll leave it as it is for the time being. I don't know whether a whole pallet load of these models was dropped, but I think that Marklin's inner packaging leaves a lot of room for improvement. The transparent plastic is simply too rigid, without the slightest cushion of soft material absorbing a possible blow from the outside (those little strips of thin foam over the cabs and the roof are actually nothing more than a "placebo"-like joke [V]). Although I might be considered as biased, I still think that HAG's comparatively huge loco boxes with ample cushioning inside are the best kind of protection.

I agree Stephan. I am surprised that this model has sold as well as it has as in my view HAG is much better and should be delivered in one piece. The dealer should take some responsibilty though as fairly early they must have realised there was a problem.
Better to confirm with previous buyers that a marklin item is of good quality before placing an order. Changed days for Marklin.
