Dear fellow members,

I have a MA 3680 Kof (I believe is the first Kof that Marklin produced) and I tried it with the IB I recently got.
The IB shows on the display the opposite direction arrow of the way the Kof is running on the tracks.
I have other Marklin Kof's and the direction arrow on the IB follows the correct direction of them.
Does anyone have this Lok and witnessed the same behaviour by using the IB?
Unfortunately I can not remember if I got the same thing happening with the 3680 and an 6021 CU.
Do you thing that by reversing the wires that go to the decoder I can correct this?

Thank you
Costas

Costas,
36xx locos have decoders that only accept "Change Direction" commands,
not "Run Forward" or "Run in Reverse".
So, select the address, push the reversing knob once, WITHOUT the loco
on the track, then put the loco back on the track and the problem should be fixed.

Regards,
Manfred

Hello Costas,
As Manfred said, old Märklin decoders do not recognize the 'absolute direction' because they only accept 'old Motorola format' commands, so the arrow in the display is nonsense.
Please try this:
Have your loco running and check it's direction of travel, then stop the loco.
Now press the 'stop' button.
Change loco's direction while IB is in stop state. The arrow will change direction.
Now press 'go' and have your loco running, you will notice it doesn't change direction if it doesn't recognize 'new Motorola format'.
In these cases, you should change the loco data format to 'Mot old', using 'lok', 'menu', from the IB panel.
Best regards.
