What is the procedure for getting a locomotive with a delta decoder to work with Central Station? I have a Marklin Krokodil (13305). It is not in the list on the CS and I don't know what numbers to enter in, if I add the locomotive manually. Thanks, Nick

I don't know. The engine was a gift and I don't know how to locate the decoder.

1. Open the loco and look at the DIP switch setting. If it has only 4 DIPs it's a Delta Decoder, other wise it's a Digital Decoder (cases a); if it has 2 potis it is a high performance decoder (case b)); if it has 8 DIP's and 2 potis and the processor chip reads "701.22" you have case c.

2. Determine the address from the DIP switch setting. If you don't have a list, here is one (second part of page): http://www.maerklin.de/faq/download.php?Number=72

3. Either choose product #3656 (case a), #3756 (case b) or #37569 (case 3) from the loco database.

4. make sure the DIP switches and the address of the selected loco match (factory setting is 67 (case a) or 68 (cases b,c)).

Alternative you might choose any other valid address for the given decoder (like Guus wrote, 24 might be fully ok). Important is only the proper match between DIP settings and address set in the CS for this model.

5. change name from "14305" to "13305".

Enjoy driving!

Smile

A small tip about how to open the locomotive can be found here:
