Henrik (hxmiesa) has shown us how to build the ultimate stone arch bridges https://www.marklin-users.net/fo...ault.aspx?g=posts&t=5533.

The alternative if you are too lazy to engrave the stone pattern yourself, is to use ready-made stone-plate imitations. I am usually too lazy to do any scratchbuilding at all, but sometimes there is no ready-made model that fits your need. I needed a bridge for the C-track R9 curve, so I had to build it myself. I used cardboard and the "Heki-Dur" foam stone-plates. The result is not really as good as what Henrik achieved, but good enough I would say. The Heki-Dur material is very easy to work with, and in my opinion it gives a much better result than the plastic or cardboard stone-plate imitations. Here is a picture of the bridge. Final painting and weathering still remains to be done.

WEll done Perz. Bridge looks good to me. R9 curves are great if you have the room for them.

Looks excellent to me!
Regarding my walls and bridges; I´m not rellay THAT happy doing it "the hard way", but as I need tons of walls, and I am too "cheap" to dish out dough for things I can do myself almost at no cost, well... I went the way of the plaster and engravings.
Your bridge, and also the one Almagic showed some time ago, proves there is no reason to go the "long way around" to get things done.
Two thumbs up! ;-)
Best regards

Looks fine to me. Certainly better than my hand scribed and painted styrofoam as seen here

Thanks, but it is not in the same class of work as Henriks or Perz. However, when I put some scenery around them they don't look too bad. I need to to more at the top..should flare out some. Actually they are a little darker than the picture shows (it is Woodland's Slate Gray). I have two installed in mountain faces but they are currently masked for painting the mountain. I'll try to get some pictures when I unmask them.

Good job Ron. You must have a lot of patience doing these bricks by hand.

Hi Ron,
That styrofoam scribing sure looks OK.
Quick too.

Thanks. It all came as an inspiration. I had a dual track on my layout that was a little too wide for the Kibri double tunnel face. I was wondering what to do, and sitting on my workbench was a sheet of one inch Woodlands landscaping styrofoam, so I tried it. Under close inspection, it doesn't look as good as the work done by the others here, but when it is in place and the other scenery around, they look fine.

In both cases, after they are weathered and installed on the layout they will look awesome! Great job to both of you!

Ron,

I'd like to see another photo of that if you ever painted and weathered.
Curious to see final result.
