Ok, I got the new to my line 3048 class 01 pacific running like a champ, all cleaned up and smooth running, the smoke generator works, barely, so I think a new replacement one is in need here, Does anybody have a spare to sell or a good source of older parts in the USA? Thanks Mike T |

Hi,
the smoke-generator for 3048/3047.. is still available from Marklin. The spare-part-number is 600250, the original name in German "RAUCHPATRONE".

if its digital, and depending on what sort of decoder you have, you may want to consider inserting a relay for the smoke unit. See http://layout.mixmox.com...stalling_digital_decoderfor pictures showing how In stalled a relay in my 3048 for the (analog) smoke generator... |

When you order #215620 you will get the wire to clean the needle that is in the smoke generator! Maybe it will smoke like new then. Price according to M is 0,74E, #600270 is a new needle (Also 0,74E). Bart |

Thanks for the suggestions, I might try running a real fine wire down the pipe to see if that helps. It is an old analog loco, this layout will not have digital on it, so neither will the locomotives. Thanks Mike |

I got it working better now, I stripped a real thin piece of solid wire and probed it down the pipe in the middle, then filled up the generator with fluid and let her run for a good hour, works great now, but this cheapo smoke fluid, made for lionel size trains really smells bad! Need to find some good scented smoke fluid, preferably that smells like coal smoke! Cheers Mike |
