Joined: 05/12/2004(UTC) Posts: 3,019 Location: CA, USA		Hi everyone, I have a mix of newer SBB coaches in the Eurofima livery, and I needed some consist advice. Any experts know how to answer the following questions? - Gas(?) Dining car (example Marklin 42174): Were these used on specific train routes, or all over the place? - Cab control cars (example - Marklin 42179): were these only used short distance, or could they also be found in longer distance trains with dining cars? (electric or gas type) Another way of explaining what I'm hoping to arrange is: Set A: 42179 cab control + 42166 3 car set + Dining car (42174 or 42172) + Dome panorama coach from 436671 set. No idea if this could exist in real life though? Thanks in advance!

I guess I should start with the fact that the Apm Panorama is not capable of push-pull use and would not be found with a cab control coach. 42166 contains two second class and one first class EWIV coach which can be used with the 42179 pilot coach. The 42174 would be the suitable restaurant coach, but the 42172 (fantasy) can also be used in a pinch. A short Intercity consist could be made of 1 or 2 first class coaches and 2-4 second class coaches along with a pilot coach. Such a train might not have a restaurant. A longer version would have additional coaches (1st and 2nd class) and might also have a restaurant coach added. If you have the complete 43671 Set, you can add the 42172 or 42174 to complete this as the EC from Hamburg to Chur, including the panorama coach. Currently, the only trains with panorama coach are the Gotthard Panorama Express (2-3 Panorama coaches with IC coaches) and the EC Zurich to Graz and Graz-Premyzyl (PO) - Graz and back to Zurich (1 Panorama with other SBB EC coaches ICN Livery) and ÖBB diner and coaches. The panorama Apm with the 42166 coaches would make a good Gotthard Panorama Express. You can add one or two more panorama coaches to complete it. Loco would be a Re 4/4II. Regards Mike C

I might set things up as follows, which is becoming an excuse to buy more standard IR livery coaches... - 42166/1 + 42166/2 + 42166/3 + Dining car + 42179 - Gotthard panorama set 43650/1 + 43650/2 + 43650/3. I do not have the complete 43671, just the dome car. I'm guessing this wouldn't have mixed into the panorama express? And that the panorama express never ran a dining car?
