Dear Märklin Friends,
I've just got the new Replika of TWE 700.. I've a question for you, In the Instruction Manual, under "Functions" it tells Headlights, "changing over with the direction of travel", but in my model they aren't just because in Section 1 the lights are white and in section 2 they are red. So they aren't changing with the direction, because you're allowed only to put them off with F2 or F3. is it as it has to work or have I to send it back for replacing?
Thank you in advance for any suggestion.
Best regards
Prof. Stefano Rocca

Hi Stephano
Indeed in page 4 of the user's manual it says "Fahrtrichtungsabhängige Stirnbeleuchtung" Direction-dependent headlights
Apparently, there is a mis understanding. While the lights can be changed to be direction-dependent (using fonction mapping) the front light is white and the rear one is red and NOT colour-changing.
If you look at this video from Märklin, in the last part you may see that the TWE700 runs backwards with the red lights in front.

After all the original TWE700 was like this

Dear Jean,
Thank you very much for the link. I don't quite understand the audio when the Märklin expert talks about the lever on the top. It worked on the original model, but in this Replica, it doesn't seem to have any functionality, even though it talks about Fahrrichtung. Am I right?
Thanks again for your invaluable help!
Stefano

The directionchange lever is a replica without any fonction. It is mobile but does not do anything.
The dfirection change is driven by digital or over voltage or polarity change depending on the programming

Dear Jean, you're right! The lever in the digital would be totally unusefull. Have you too got your TWE? I think it is really fascinating, something come from the first Märklin Era!!
Best regards
Stefano
