Hello all, I am fairly new to the hobby, so far I have been experimenting with a Z scale layout with some nice results. I got into N scale as well and I’m trying to expand my starter set layout. I wanted to control some turnout motors (minitrix 14934) via a contact track with a magnet switch (minitrix 14980). I tried connecting them any which way but I just can’t make it work (i can activate the switch with a magnet but nothing else). I have an m84 (i use to switch some signals via another contact track) and an m83 decoder (which i use to “manually” control the turnouts). Can you help me connect the contact rail to the turnout motors either in conjunction with the m83/m84 or bypassing it? I only have a mobile station and not a central station so I can’t do much programming. Thank you!

Hello Daletbet (a first name would be so much better) A warm welcome to this great forum. Here a Märklinist from Paris France. So your contact track works when approching a magnet. Fixing a magnet under one of your wagons or locos you can easily make it work too. Of courser nothing will happen in absence of a magnet on a moving vehicle. Now, what to do with it?- you may directly connect the 2 wires to drive a switch (or a signal) like per this schematics. In this example a train using the deviated section will change the switch position. - the other possible use is to use an S88 connected to your Central Station to start a "event" (a sequence of commands) automatically: switch change, signal change, starting a loco, stopping another. Amazing, merci Jean! It worked straight away when I connected it per your schematic. Instead of the analog switch I have an m83 and it works perfectly with the contact rail:) i am planning to expand this with a CC-Schnitte and s88 because I don’t have a central station and it’s quite expensive:)
