Was buying some Marklin wire when I noticed that the feeder set 74040 could only be used with older transformers/power packs. I dont really need it but what would be used now as I thought that wire was just connected to C track and back to the CS3 which is what a feeder track could be used for. I know it is an odd question but I just could not see why the 74040 could not be used.
Take care I like Marklin and will defend the worlds greatest model rail manufacturer.

It can be used with any CSn. The limitation is the maximum current it can handle.
CS3 with a proper power supply can provide 5 Amps to the layout. That cable has not the specifications to handle such a current to a layout.
Transformers for analog train control can deliver 32VA, so let's say, 2 Amps.

Best regards,
Miguel
Mostly Märklin H0.

Wire is wire. Marklin wire is regular that Marklin repackages. Save money buy plain wire.

Exactly, just buy the right gauge to handle the power you plan to push through it.

Regards,
Jim

I have almost all Märklin and mostly HO, although I do have a small number of Z gauge trains!
So many trains and so little time.
