Hello. I don't know if any others have encountered this problem with the new style Marklin wire plugs? I have experienced many falling out of the many buses I have for wiring. With the amount of wiring I have, a friend recommended this product (see photo), which when dabbed on the plug ends around the red plastic part, will give it a "gummy sticky feel" and hold them on much better. Peter.

Yes Pete. I liked the old plugs better. I mostly used them for lighting,so every time one is out, I suspect the bulb, or led, but the wire was hanging from the distribution strip.

The new style plugs are a narrower diameter than the old ones. If you use an old style distribution board they will always fall out. Glueing them in is not a smart move! If you prefer the old style, then you can still buy them through Brawa https://www.brawa.de/en/...ories/connectors-sockets

I used the new strip and they still fall out when multiple plugs are joined.

Perhaps I didn't describe this glue correctly. It is a gummy, sticky glue that can easily be removed from what it is glued to and can be put back in without extra, new glue applied to the red plastic part of the plug end. I have used it for one year now and no problems at all. BTW, I have many of the old style plugs too and their buses. Cheers, Peter.

I have never used the old style Märklin plugs. I use the new style plugs and the distribution strip and have exactly your problems Peter. I will try the gummy method. I suspect that the denture adhesive used for false teeth (dentures) in the mouth will accomplish the task just as well. And possibly even one of the hardware adhesives which never hardens.

I have both new and old style plugs and have not experienced any problems. I twist 2 (at most 2) wires and then insert to one plug. I also have plugged one into another and also not experienced any problems. Maybe once, I had to follow what was suggested - open the pin slightly. Rarely do they come loose from the distribution strip (may be due to the cats or myself moving around).
If old style plugs are needed by anyone, I do have quite a few and are no longer needed. Send me a message, if needed

I use the Brawa plugs and their distribution board which works fine and takes up less room. |
Take care I like Marklin and will defend the worlds greatest model rail manufacturer. |
