Hi guys,

By this photo, looking at the motor shield, can you say is this DCM or SFCM motor?

The 3038 appparently have two versions been produced back in the days.

This is FCM, not DCM.
With two brushes side by side, the motor is FCM, not DCM.

Ok thanks,

Which of the new retrofit motors should I choose for this?

I don’t currently have access to this loco so I can’t open the motor and see what the armature look like.

The 60943 is the conversion set for SFCM.

If you are enthusiastic you can add ball bearings, 5x2x2mm rear of motor, 4x2x2mm on brushplate
