Hi, I have been operating with just my two mobile stations, the original versions, higher amped ones for Gauge 1. But with more digital functions on locos, the existing 60VA transformer powering them does not have enough grunt and overload cutouts occur. So I intend to get a CS3.
Will my MS1's work with the CS3 - or do I have to get MS2's as well?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks in advance. The question has been asked before, and someone experimented, and the answer was yes they do work. I don't have a link to the thread at the moment, but I do remember BigDaddy doing the experiment and reporting that they do work.

Hi Allan Yes the MS1 works very fine with a CS3 (my case) with the following: - plugs directly in one of the 2 front sockets or to extensions using a Terminal (Märklin 60125) to be checked as I don't have a hub) - stores only 10 of your locos. Those 10 locos are designated by the CS3 using the MS1 command As you know, the MS1 is much simplified compared with MS2 (no control of points and signals, no CV editing, etc) but to use as a local command away from the CS3 it is good. Note: be extra carefull when plugging as the pins break easily. Cheers Jean Edited by user 08 January 2023 11:58:37(UTC)
| Reason: Correction: Hub 60122 is replaced with Terminal 60125 (line 3) |

It was actually the 2021 version of that thread. https://www.marklin-user...ses---2021-Edition/page4Kimball asked the question - Posts #165 - #168

Hi I stand corrected, the "Terminal" to be used is the 60125. The 60122 was a hub allowing to increase the number of MS2 (MS1 is not mentioned but the connector and pin layout is the same) on a track module (60112 or 60113 ) . Not in production anymore https://static.maerklin....0d0c3e62e31434541986.pdfBut it seems to be out of production now. Jean |

Two Mobile Stations (MS1 or MS2) can be connected at the front, a third MS can be connected using the 60124 adapter cable, more can be connected using hubs - each hub can connect four MS, but each MS requires a 60124 adapter cable. Cable 60126 can be used between CS and hub to increase the cable length. Theoretically the bus can go up to 100 m, so a few 60126 can be used to achieve a greater distance. |
