Hello all, I am still in the planning stage for my layout after many years out of the hobby.

I am debating if I should use 2265/6 turnout or the 227815/6 turnout. I will be using ESU servo control on them.

1) Which do you recommend? Advantages disadvantages?

2) is there a problem down the line to have a 64.6 mm spread or a 57mm spread between rails, which each turnout leads to, for curves?

Thanks

If you have the space, for the better looks, I strongly suggest the 22715/22716 turnouts. I only use a few 2265/2266 in hidden areas. Track distance of 57 mm also looks great, however this is also a matter of available space; Depending on your rolling stock, you may need wider curves based on flex tracks.

I am planning on using mainly flex track so that would not be a problem. Great idea to use the 2265/6 in hidden areas actually was probably planning on using c track too there too.
I was just concern about passenger train touching in curves with the 57mm spread!

Will I be limited for some options and flexibility of the layout?

As pefu says; The slim turnouts are definetly the way to go. Not only for looks, but also they give safer running (less problems for the rolling stock, S-curves, other brands wheels, etc).
