Hi everyone
I would much appreciate anyone’s insight into the following:
Instead of using the m84 with Marklin signals 74391 (I only use simple red/green main line signals), I would like to use the less expensive Viessmann signals 4011 with the ESU SignalPilot decoder 51840. The m84 can only control 4 signals, whereas the ESU SignalPilot can control 8 of them.
Can I implement the above using my CS3? Anyone who has actually done this?
Many thanks!
tom

Hello Tom,

I have not used the 51840, but I've heard that you need a LokProgrammer in order to correctly program the SignalPIlot.

Extract of the manual:
The SignalPilot must be configured with the LokProgrammer and
the appropriate software. Although all settings would also be ac-
cessible via CV programming, this procedure is not recommended
or documented due to its complexity.
Confused

If you don't have such a LokProgrammer, then it may become complicated.

If you have only red/green LED signals like Vie4011, then have a look at LDT LS-DEC-8x2: https://www.ldt-infocent...oku.php?id=en:ls-dec-8x2
It may provide a better alternative.

I have already used LS-DEC-DB decoder to drive Vie4017/4018 signals, and it works very well. My CS is a CS2, but I don't think it is very different with the CS3.

My 2 cents.
