Hi All

In my layout design I have along straight (6m) in C Track using 24360s: I would like to make it more interesting so have used the C track to K track converter and added some gentle curves for the 6m run using the K track flexible 900 mm pieces.

Does anybody have any experiences of running trains between C & K track, is this a good idea?

Tim

Hi Tim

There is no problem in mixing C track and K Track BUT:
* you need to use EITHER special rail joiners (between 100 and 80 rails
* OR to use normal 100 rail joiner and force then into a S Shape so that the top surface are aligned between C and K tracks

I have used Faller cork-bed under the flexible K rails with C track ballast from Noch
Cheers
Jean

C track is code 90, so normal joiners could be a better choice than 100/80 joiners.

There still is the transition track from C track to K track that takes care of the difference in height with special rail joiners. If there is sufficient space, then these are a good option.

Regards
Tom

I can only assume what Jean is getting at is if you want to connect K track directly to C track without using the adapter track.

My layout has several K to C track connections, but I always use the adapter track 24922 for the transition and I have never had a problem.

Hi,

We did direct C to K track connection on our company layout, because we needed K track to get enough clearance under a bridge. We used the normal K track joiners. It was a bit messy, but worked out well when it was done.
