I need to ask a favor...

Could somebody who has the 39540 Gottardo train please post a picture or confirm the the values for:
1) Maximum Speed
2) Minimum Speed
3) Acceleration Delay
4) Breaking Delay
5) Speedometer,

which appear on the CS2 or CS3 display when the original mfx decoder registers itself?
I had to replace the original, factory-installed decoder on my Gottardo, and am now experiencing issues with its operation. Unfortunately, I deleted the original icon on the CS2.

Thanks!!

Best regards,
Armando García

I have the 39540. Unfortunately, I do not have a CS2 or 3? Can I get the information you need from a MS2?

There were some posts in forums about problems with equipping this (and other C-Sinus models) with aftermarket decoders.
I seem to recall that the solution was to remove the C-Sinus and PCB and install the parts from the Trix version and then to program an ESU Loksound Decoder to work with it.

See: https://www.marklin-user...ttardo-with-Loksound-mfx

Have you checked if ESU has a package for the C-Sinus Gottardo?

Hi Armando
I have not done it but Märklin new mDS3 or mLD3 can drive C-sine motors and many fellow Märklinists have done it
In this case:
- AUX 3 and AUX 4 are used
- CV52=1
- CV56=0 (no regulation for C-Sine
- CV51=24 or CV51=0 (if AUX3 and AUX4 outputs are amplified
See the documentation here from page 26 in English: https://static.maerklin....f9c03c05501564554249.pdf
For the rest I suggest to start with
CV2=3 (minimum speed)
CV3=15 (Acceleration delay)
CV4=15 (Brake delay)
CV5= 100 (Max speed)
CV 27=48 (Braking mode, value for fx/MFX)
CV63= 180 (Sound volume)
Speedometer should be set for 160 kM/H

Cheers
Jean

Thanks Mike.
Will the MS2 allow you to access the CV's?
In that case, it would be possible to look up the settings for the original, factory-installed decoder. It may help.

Jean,

Thank you for all this valuable information.
I tried setting these values, as per your recommendations. The system will not let me change CV52 to 1-Sinus C. It remains on 2 - Ungeregelter Motor, which I think it's ok as CV56 is already on "0".
With these speed and delay settings, unfortunately, I did not notice any improvement. The train only starts moving when the speedometer is at 80, before that speed, it won't budge. My grave concern is that the compact C-Sine motor may be damaged.

Hi Armando
What reference / type is your decoder ?
I believe the real delicate part in the C Sine motor is the electronic part which is on the main PCB (not serviced anymore by Märklin
I have a 39980 Schienenbus and by handling the overhead PCB I accidentally damaged (electrostatic shock) the electronics and the motor wouldn't move.
Märklin in Germany repaired it at the time by changing the upper PCB.

Cheers
Jean

Are you trying to program an ESU decoder with CV information from a Märklin manual? Sounds like a bad idea.
Find out the version of your decoder (3, 4, or 5) and use the appropriate ESU manual to configure the decoder for C Sine operation.

Tom
