Hi All

I have just returned from a visit to Hamburg and Minature World BigGrin BigGrin

On my return through Germany I called at Goppingen and Marklins shop BigGrin

I bought the 42175 Lotchberger set

maerklin-42175.jpg

I have found that the set will push with the loco at the back with no trouble, but when I pull the set it frequently derails. Does anybody else have the same problem ? Is there a solution ?

As for the lighting, it is permanently on. Is there a way to control this, so I can turn the lighting off.

Thanks
Tim

I am a little surprised that you are having an issue with these coaches being pulled as opposed to pushed.
Is the consist always derailing at the same location (track) and is it always the same coach/coaches that derail?

Have you checked the buffers to ensure that they are not interfering with the movement of the coaches.
You should also check to see whether the coupling shafts can fully pivot from side to side.
When the coaches are being pushed, the couplers tend to be closer to each other. When the consist is being pulled, the couplings are stretched and tend to space out a little more, which could make the difference if there was an issue with the buffers or coupling shaft. You should also check the current conducting mechanism to see if there is some interference with movement there. that is more likely to be an issue with one particular coach.

If you can't figure it out, perhaps you can ask Mr Stelzer:

Herr Alexander Stelzer,
Telefon: 056 / 667 3663
Telefax: 056 / 667 4664
E-Mail: service@maerklin.ch

Regards

Mike C

Have you checked the couplings according to the problem reported in this forum thread?

I could envisage that working correctly when pushing, but failing as reported there when pulling.

Hi all
Thanks for your replies, I have found that by using the set it has loosened up all the couplings and they no longer catch. So it pulls and pushes with no problems
