I can not seem to finding regarding how to connect an ESU Ecos controller to Marklin C track. Is there a polarity issue?

As Märklin expects AC then polarity should not be an issue, I would put positive to the centre as that would allow other electrical items to use the rails as a common ground.
Must build something

Hi
Yes sort of with some decoders. Many switch decoders must have their "polarity" respected and otherwise will not function.
Märklin C Track have spade connectors marked B and O
On the ECOS side look at §6 of manual http://www.esu.eu/uploads/tx_es..._edition_II_eBook_01.pdf
You have two 2-pole connectors with O and B markings. One of the connector is for programming track and the other one for the main track.

So for main track you pick the appropriate connector and connect B on ECOS with B on track and O on ECOS with O on C track

Note: all recent loco don't care about "polarity by older switch decoders do

Cheers
Jean

Try page 6 of the ECoS manual (page number may vary for different editions). Instructions for three-rail track apply to M track, C track, and K track.

Yes. The track current is not symmetric AC and polarity matters. Red or B have to go to the centre rail.
