Hello,

Today the F7 complex of my Super Chief (26496) decided to stop working, basically while the locomotive was running I heard a weird noise and the locomotive pretty much stopped. I checked and apparently the wheels connected to the front engine (the locomotive has two engine) are stuck and there's no way to move them, the engine is working but the wheels gears are not moving at all.

Anybody has a suggestion on how to fix this?

santa fe.png (3,519kb) downloaded 48 time(s).

Thanks.
Ep. III (My layout is set in 1962).
I collect mainly DSB, DB and SBB but I'm quite... Open minded.

That’s strange. I own many sturdy M* F7s, but none ever stalled like that. Is there only one decoder driving both motors? If so, then you are facing a mechanical problem. The affected truck (or bogie) should have four rubber traction tyres. Are they are still in place? If not, maybe one got caught in the cog wheels.

I owe an update, I tried to clean the gears from "outside" but I couldn't manage to solve much, then after a hour of waiting it started to work again just fine. It's the first time I experience such a thing with a Marklin locomotive; it's quite weird.

Probably caught some ballast+or other particle between the teeth of the gear.
