Hello
I purchased an old marklin mechanical railroad crossing from the late 50s. Their is some wiring for a light but it does not make complete sense. Their is one yellow lead which goes to the transformer and two brown leads (presumably to brown lead). Can anybody tell me where the brown leads are normally routed to in order to make the light work when the train passes.

regards
Al

The crossing number is 7054 and it is a mechanical crossing with a little red light. Sorry I do not have any pictures.

Hello Al,

The Light is activated by the weight of the Train going over the crossing. Yellow goes to the Transformer and brown from the contact to the Track (ground).
Check to see if you can see the contact when you press down on the Track , the other brown wire goes from this contact to the Light.
Hope this helps.

Think I got it. A bad connection threw me for a loop. In short yellow goes to the transformer and drives the signal light. The brown wires have nothing to do with this they are used for a separate light in the guard house. Thanks for the help.

Regards
Al
