Hi all I'm new to Marklin ,but I'm a experierenced modeller in
DC system . I have built an universal layout using C track
(I have insulated all the tracks and turnouts and I have supplied
the frogs ). At present I have tested the layout both in DC and
AC and the results seem very good ( i.e all Dc small locos I have
tested run perfectly on the turnouts). I have some doubts
about the dimensions of the frogs and the gauge (I know that
Marklin doesn't meet exactly the NEM gauge ), because I have more
than 100 Fleischmann locos ; so I would like to have some
information about the size of frogs and rails in order to try
to solve the problems ( derailments , slow run and so on) in
case they occur. Thank you in advance

Marco

Hi Marco,

I'm confused. You said you are using C-track... Marklin C-track right? In that case all your -future- Marklin purchases will be really happy to run on that track.

You'll have to insulate/isolate your Marklin wheels, they would cause shorts on the DC portion of your track.

A howdy from Texas,

Charlie

Hi Charlie I have insulated the rails and the turnouts of my
layuot in C track ; when I use DC locos I use a DC power supply
feeding only the external rails and when I use Marklin locos
I use the Marklin transformer feeding center pins and shorting
external rails. Obviuosly it's impossible to use Marklin system
and DC system at the same time.
