hi, I am new to Marklin. I have been acquiring items over the past 30 years, and I am just in the process of building my rail setup. i have 11 turnouts to wire up and i am wondering if its possible to connect all this to a bus type wire system. Would this possibly eliminate a lot of wiring?

any info would be appreciated, as I cannot obtain this info on the internet.

Kind Regards

Hi Primo, welcome.

Do you intend running classic Analogue or going Digital?

What if any, reference literature do you have already?

Cheers

Steve

Hi! Steve,

Thank you for your reply.

I am combining the Noch Mittenwald [59610] layout, with the Marklin 23k Layout [Book 0700 page 7.5 177] and the Noch 80120 [from the track plan 59100], which I have started.

at the present I am planing to complete the Noch 59610. i have completed the rails and connected to my transformers [2]. this was done via a bus wiring system which work very well.
and it will be done under the analogue system. the remaning plans will be initially analogue and then possibly to digital.

I have the following references.

signal Manual 0361

Electric manual 0715 [German/english]
Marklin Digital Book 0303 , 0368
a user guide to the Marklin digital system prepared by Dr. Thomas Catherall [4edition 1991/

Kind Regards

Hi Primo,

meanwhile Maerklin offers some more books and information for digital railroad returners. See Maerklin article # 03092 "Controlling Digitally with the Central Station 3" in English.

https://www.maerklin.de/...s/details/article/03092/

Maerklin's information offers are unfortunately mainly in German. Nevertheless I want to show you some more sources:

https://www.maerklin.de/...men-specials-und-serien/

under this link you find plenty of information to a digital railway including cabeling.

https://www.maerklin.de/.../MM_Verkabelung_2013.pdf

Most of this article is also a chapter (page 150 and following pages) in the new book from Maerklin.

I bought the German version of this book and can highly recommend it.

Maerklin just published another brandnew book.

https://www.maerklin.de/...e/details/article/03070/

This one I just ordered, but have not yet received.

Maerklin also offers very special so called technical tipps - but unfortunately all in German and I did not yet found any translation in the internet. Here an example:

https://www.maerklin.de/...faq/Technik-Tipp-403.pdf

regards

TEEWolf

On an analog system, the yellow wire from each turnout can go to a common bus wire, but the other 2 wires,(red and green) must run independently to the controller, 7072 if you are using M track.
